Fourth generation Subaru Forester. Geometry with geography

Hello dear forum users.

Last year, I still decided to change cars - Honda Accord 2007 onwards. engine 2.0. 155 HP MCP to something else.

The agony of choice. In general, thoughts about replacing a car began to come from 2012, but for a very long time I could not decide on the type of future car - a sedan or a crossover, or maybe an SUV in general, the soul demanded a "fast walker", but the mind wanted a "rogue". On the one hand, I drove the Accord wherever it was necessary, and I mainly drive on the highway, and of course the city, but on the other hand, it’s definitely better with all-wheel drive and ground clearance more - arrivals and departures to garages, yards, etc., and in summer the freedom of movement increases, especially in unfamiliar places. I wanted even faster dynamics at city speeds, because it is more convenient when there is already a powerful return at speeds below average, in principle, I was not against a diesel engine, if you look at some specific cars. Fantasy extended to such cars as the Tuareg and Grand Cherokee, was on a test drive of Pajero 4 diesel, I remember the feeling that this car really doesn’t care about the road. I considered these SUVs rather for show, just to understand what they are, since I don’t seem to need such large cars. All the same, at first I was more inclined towards sedans and seemed to want something like "premium". I visited the Audi salon in Yaroslavl, since we don’t have it in the city, I sat in the A4, but it wasn’t on the test, the manager girl practically persuaded me to take a ride on the Ku5 engine. 2.0.turbo 225 hp, at first I refused because I was not going to take Ku5, (it seems like I was aiming at A4 with a Quattro with 2.0. turbo, but I haven’t decided yet with which one DSG box or mechanics), but in such an A4 a lot coincides with Ku5, only in Ku5 the box was already conventional machine, not DSG, well, in general, I agreed. The first impression is that the car really drives and has good noise, the interior is also cool.

I also visited the Volvo salon in Yarik, I watched the S60 - I liked the car, but the ground clearance under the front bumper saddened me, it only felt like a fist would crawl through, I also watched the XC 60, it’s also normal, but for some reason I didn’t fall for it (probably because all the same at that time more like a sedan). I really liked the outwardly treshka BMW, but damn our roads were killing thoughts about it, and the nearest dealer is almost 600 km away, if there are problems you will have to suffer.

The new Accord is very good (though not premium), but I didn’t want to take the third Honda in a row, and I didn’t fall for it. In addition, I reviewed a bunch of test drives on the Internet completely different cars and I also looked at the reviews, all the same, you need to shovel a lot of different material in order to choose grains of really valuable information for yourself. In general, I chose for a long time, and began to lean towards Audi (after all, the test drive made an impression), if the A4 came out on the configurator somewhere around 1.8 million in the configuration I needed to order, if it’s still Ku5 then 2.3 million, or go to the capital and take what is available, but since Audi is a type of premium, I wanted to assemble a car completely for myself, in order to feel this very premium, and in general to be, and not seem.

With Ku5, I again have a snag - it seems that I have already persuaded myself to crossover, but it seems to me for some reason that this women's car and that's it, with my mind I understand that this is not so, but I could not overcome this feeling.

I decided to let it be A4, I need to order it, but here again a surprise for me - in case of ordering a car, the Audi dealer asks for a 30% prepayment and wait another 4 months, that is, you have to pay 600 - 800 pieces for a car that has not yet begun to be made and hope that everything will be good. I didn’t like it at all, and the reviews on the network for reliability - I found something a little too negative, in general it turned out like a lottery, and it didn’t suit me. Audi also needs to be serviced at a dealer, since judging by the info, almost everything needs to be done there by connecting car to a computer, but I'm used to servicing it myself - it's noticeably cheaper and most importantly, you won't mess yourself up. Of course, I understand that it is customary to service such cars in the service, but again, often the dealer’s attitude towards you changes after buying a car and I don’t want to follow them so that they don’t mess up and deceive (and this often happens). Audi dropped out, although with regret, it feels like a cool car. So I didn’t get into the “premium” with my requests, despite the fact that there were opportunities, well, apparently I haven’t grown morally yet, okay, maybe next time. Maybe I'm wrong about something with the conclusions, but I got the feeling.

I am again in search, but now I have already decided for sure that I need a crossover and most likely Japanese, while I should not lose, if possible, in handling and certainly in dynamics compared to previous car. Why I changed my mind about taking a sedan - the practical component won, and I never drove crossovers, I decided to try it. The requirements were four-wheel drive, not weak suspension, a sufficiently powerful motor, an automatic machine or a handle, this did not matter in principle and the assembly was not Russian, it is desirable. SRV is too similar to a minivan for me, but I don’t need it, I didn’t like RAV4 outwardly, new X-trail then not yet sold, and Forester. Although what to list, from this contingent, only Forik could offer the motor I needed, and I began to look at it. I went to Yaroslavl to see the car in the salon and wanted to test drive, but after a short conversation with the staff, I got the feeling that they didn’t seem to need me, and I went home, I didn’t even sit in the car. Here I must say that it was a PPT salon who knows, he will understand, and who is not in the know, type reviews about PPT on the network - your hair will stand on end. Of course, I already knew what kind of office it was, and I wasn’t going to take a car from them, I just wanted to test it, well, figs with them, they didn’t have a turbo version on the test anyway. I sat down at the computer to collect information about Forik, I looked at a lot of things, I decided to take it. I went to Vologda - there is also a PPT salon (I had to sit in the car), in general, I realized that this car suits me externally and internally, it didn’t produce a wow effect by itself, but it’s acceptable.

I call the salon in Moscow - there is Foriki turbo available with TCP, if you book or order a car, an advance payment of 15,000 rubles in total (not like in Audi), but all cars are from 2013, and when 2014 will be brought in is unknown (the bony paw of the next crisis has already begun hang over the country), I wanted to take a car made in 2014, so that it would be fresher. Well, okay, I think let it be 2013, but they give a discount of 90,000 rubles. Moscow to pick up your car with cash in your pocket, maybe it's a little old-fashioned, but it's more familiar and easier for me when the money is real, not plastic. The car is in the pre-maximum configuration, there are three differences from the maximum speed - there is no sunroof, navigation and Harman Kardon music. I don't need a sunroof, navigation and graphics, judging by the reviews, are very mediocre, and I'm not a music lover, so I'll do without a cardon in my pocket. The difference between these configurations is 100 thousand, the money is not crazy, but why pay for something that is unnecessary. The price of my car was then (April 2014) 1695000 rubles, minus 90000 thousand discount, total 1605000. At that time it seemed not very cheap for Subaru, but now it’s clear that it’s completely and inexpensive, especially since, as I understand it, now turbo versions will not be delivered to us.

The package includes: dual-zone climate control, rear view camera, light and rain sensors, cruise, xenon low beam, keyless entry, engine start with a button, electric driver's seat adjustment, electric tailgate, hill start assist system, second row backrest adjustment seats, 18-inch wheels, X-mode system for safe descent from a steep slippery hill and for driving through mud, SI-DRIVE system, tinted rear windows, all kinds of pillows, bluetooth, inputs, outputs, fog lights. In the trunk under the floor there is a stowaway and an organizer made of soft material.

Exploitation.

Even when leaving the salon, he gave the gray-haired installation that this is not a low sedan, but a rather high crossover and it is not necessary to enter sharp turns on it, as on the Accord, and even running in, but as it turned out, the fears were in vain, Forik turns very well. When changing from a non-boring sedan to a crossover, I didn’t lose controllability and it was very pleasing, especially since I didn’t expect this, in all the places where I drove the Accord, I also drive Forik, in some even a little faster (I have due to turns), due to what this happens - a tricky all-wheel drive, suspension, or all together, but it still surprises and pleases. Of course, I’m not a professional racer, and indeed I’m not a racer at all to test the car on the edge, especially on public roads it’s just unsafe, but it feels like the car has a reserve for active driving, and it’s not small. The suspension, by the way, judging by reviews, it’s tougher on turbo versions than on Foriki with atmospheric engines, but I myself didn’t drive atmospheric versions, so I can’t compare, and the rear brake discs are also ventilated like the front ones. Still, the steering wheel would not hurt a little tighter. The car goes well on the primer, the suspension does not break through, it is insensitive to the asphalt rut.

I chose a car with this engine, because I like it when the car drives easily, the engine doesn’t seem to notice the weight of the car, and I still didn’t want to lose dynamics when changing cars. It has become easier to drive around the city, since at low speeds you can quickly jump into the resulting window in the next row without disturbing anyone, I got what I wanted - good traction at below-average speeds. From the traffic light, if you wish, you can also leave quickly, and You don't have to press the gas all the way to do this. I found information on the net that in Japan, on Forike, the same engine produces 280 hp, for us, as always, they strangled it. This motor is new from Subaru and it was a bit dumb to take a car with it, but there was no longer any desire to delve further into different options, and faith in Japanese quality I have so far.

The car has four driving modes, the so-called SI-DRIVE system: mode I (intelligent) for normal driving, in order to burn less fuel, I use it in winter and even in summer until the engine warms up to operating temperature, S (Sport) mode - basically I drive it, since the car reacts noticeably faster to gas, S # (Sport Sharp) mode is when the variator "turns" into an 8-speed automatic, the reaction to gas is even sharper and slightly felt switching, well, there is also a manual mode with paddle shifters - in general, a car for an active driver, there is always a choice of how you want to drive today and this pleases.

Subaru has CVTs of its own production, my car has a chain variator with increased bearing capacity, docked with a torque converter - such a symbiosis of a classic automatic machine and a variator, designed to transmit 350 nm of torque. I have never driven either automatics or variators before, but I heard that the variator usually hangs at one speed with a monotonous howl of the engine and there is a smooth acceleration, this is not here and close, as you pressed it, it went. The answer of Subaru representatives to the question of why they put variators on their cars, and not multi-stage modern automatic machines like the Germans, for example, is interesting - "because such boxes are structurally more complicated than the variator, and therefore less reliable", well, let's wait and see how it will be there.

The appearance of the car is generally normal, nothing special, but still recognizable in the stream, especially since in my city Forikov of this generation has been miscalculated once or twice.

Fuel consumption.

I got the minimum consumption when I drove the car from the passenger compartment home for almost 600 km - 7.4 liters on the computer, drove no faster than 120 km / h, but mostly 90-100 km / h, over time, after running in, I began to drive faster, got used to the car , consumption began to increase, by the time of the transition to winter tires, the computer showed 10.6 liters. Winter tires I also need to roll it a little (according to the instructions), I slowed down again and the consumption fell by a liter. After some time, the driving style recovered and the end of winter on the computer was 12.2 liters. Now summer has begun - consumption shows 10.2. This is a mixed expense, if you drive only around the city and drive with all the money, I think it will be 14 liters, maybe more. Consumption suits me, given the four-wheel drive and engine power, I'm not satisfied with the tank volume of 60 liters in total, on the Accord with a 155 horsepower engine, the tank was 5 liters more! The optimal volume would be 80 liters, specifically for this car.

Behind winter period I never used a shovel, while on a Honda I often dug in the winter, carried with me two shovels, a bayonet and a shovel (shortened). Forik warms up as well as Honda, the time is the same, but for some reason there is no steering wheel heating - this is a minus, there are also no air vents for rear passengers, heating rear seats, poor trunk lighting, no light in the glove compartment - this is strange, of course, all these minor flaws do not affect the speed, but it would be better if they weren’t there. hands will reach to catch a cricket.

The car has a leather interior (there is no choice in this configuration), the leather is of course artificial, and at first I was tormented by vague doubts about this, but as it turned out later in vain, on the front seats this material is very thick and perforated, it feels very similar to a real skin to the touch , but on the back the material seems to be stiffer, or it just seems so to me. Well, such an upholstery is easy to clean and wash if necessary, who has small children - that’s it. The seats lack lateral support, maybe it’s designed for fatter people, I don’t know, but in Honda it was somehow tighter, and there is no lumbar support, I had to do it myself . The plastic on top of the panel is soft, on the doors it is hard, but not miserable, although there is also a little soft. Shumka at the level of the previous car, I would like better.

It's too early to talk about reliability, the mileage is small, but so far so good.

I always refuel at Lukoil, I also refueled at Honda only there, there were no problems, gasoline 95.

Summing up, we can say that the car suits me, because for me the driving benefits are much more important than anything else, and at the same time Forik is not afraid of our roads, and this is important. Well, I'll finish this, if you have any questions, I'll answer.

In recent years, everything more crossovers try on "glamorous attire", losing even the slightest opportunity to conquer off-road and turning into typical city dwellers. Against their background, the Forester stands apart. fourth generation, which for many years tried not to change its traditions - a “male” appearance and exclusively all-wheel drive.

The fourth generation Forester made its world debut in 2012 on the stage of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and before the European public it appeared in all its glory in March 2013 at the bride in Geneva.

Two years later, still in the same place - in Los Angeles, the Japanese from Subaru presented updated crossover, which, without changing outwardly, acquired minor improvements in the cabin, pulled itself up in terms of security and lost its “mechanics” (for the Russian market).

The Forester IV experienced its second modernization in May 2016 - this time it was slightly tweaked with bumpers, optics and a radiator grille, improved sound insulation, expanded the list of available equipment and returned (for our country) a “manual” gearbox.

The next, extreme to date, update affected the car in September 2017 - this time the Japanese bypassed the design of the exterior and interior, but again separated the previously inaccessible options and added new levels of performance.

In general, we can say that the "fourth" Subaru Forester designed in a discreet and deliberately rough style, which makes it unmistakable against the background of other models. Most of the design delights are concentrated around the "front" part: radiator screen with branded “six edges” and “sharp” headlights with LED running lights, complemented by a bumper with a regular or “sporty” design with characteristic “flies” for foglights.

The Forester's profile shows muscular and solid proportions with swollen wheel arches that house 17-18-inch alloy wheels, a sidewall rib and a large glass area.

The monumental stern of this Subaru off-road vehicle is framed in a concept typical for crossovers - compact lights, a characteristic trunk lid and a bumper, into which one or two exhaust pipes are integrated, depending on the version.

The 4th generation model formally appears in the segment compact crossovers(although in fact it has already come close to the "medium-sized"): 4610 mm long, 1795 mm wide and 1735 mm high. The length of the wheelbase is 2640 mm, and the minimum ground clearance (with curb weight) is 220 mm.

In the stowed state, the weight of this car varies from 1551 to 1702 kilograms.

The interior of the Subaru Forester cannot be called exquisite - inside everything is quite ascetic and simple, but it is located “in its place” and is of high quality. In general, the decoration of this "Japanese" can be described as "the embodiment of reasonable sufficiency."

The instrument cluster with analog dials is easy to read and provides just the information you need, while the well-shaped multifunctional steering wheel is comfortable and attractive. The central part of the front panel is crowned with a color monitor, on which readings are displayed on-board computer and information about the operation of the all-wheel drive transmission. A little lower, depending on the configuration, you can watch the radio, or a large display of the multimedia center, as well as three "lambs" of the dual-zone air conditioning system.

In the cabin of this crossover, there is neither high cost nor outright cheapness - finishing materials are inexpensive, but of high quality, and the build level is at all at a high “European” level. In the "top" versions, the seats are upholstered in genuine leather.

One of the features of the 4th generation Subaru Forester is a well-organized interior space. The front seats are not only endowed with a comfortable profile with well-defined support on the sides, but also with the necessary adjustment ranges. For passengers back row there is a comfortable sofa with an adjustable back angle, a reclining armrest and a solid supply of space in all directions. There is only one drawback - a bulging transmission tunnel on the floor.

For the transport of goods, the "fourth Forester" provides a 488-liter luggage compartment of the correct form, a wide opening and an acceptable loading height. The "gallery" is laid almost flush with the floor, which increases the usable volume to 1548 liters and allows you to transport bulky items. In a niche under the floor, only a compact spare wheel could be accommodated.

Russian consumers updated in 2017 Subaru The 4th incarnation Forester is offered with three gasoline four-cylinder units with a horizontally opposed "pot" configuration and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt. In cooperation with each of them, an all-wheel drive system with dynamic traction distribution (ACT) operates, which has an electronically controlled multi-plate clutch in its arsenal. By default, the moment is divided between the axes in a ratio of 60:40, however, depending on the situation, this proportion may vary.

  • Under the hood of the basic versions of the crossover, a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine (1995 cubic centimeters) with multi-point power is “registered”, generating 150 “mares” at 6200 rpm and 198 N m of possible potential at 4200 rpm.
Sharing with a 6-speed “mechanics” or a Lineartronic V-chain CVT, it allows the Forester to gain 100 km / h after 10.6-11.8 seconds, exchange 190-192 km / h as much as possible and “eat” no more than 8-8.2 liters of fuel in the “ city/highway.
  • It is followed in the hierarchy by the “aspirated” 2.5-liter (2498 cubic centimeters) with distributed injection, whose peak performance values are 171 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 235 N m of torque at 4100 rpm.
In combination with it, only a variator is installed, thanks to which the car breaks down from standstill to 100 km / h in 9.8 seconds, conquers the bar at 197 km / h and consumes 8.3 liters of gasoline in mixed conditions.
  • The top of the power palette is “occupied” by a 2.0-liter “four” (1998 cubic centimeters) with a turbocharger and direct fuel supply (issuing 241 “horses” at 5600 rpm and 350 N m of maximum torque at 2400-3600 rpm) - aggregated with Lineartronic transmission.
Such an all-terrain vehicle takes only 7.5 seconds to “run” to the first “hundred”, its “maximum speed” exceeds 220 km / h, and its “appetite” does not go beyond 8.5 liters in the combined cycle.

The fourth generation crossover is based on a modified platform Subaru Impreza with MacPherson struts on the front axle and multi-link on rear axle. Subaru Forester is equipped with electric power steering and efficient braking system with disk devices on all wheels (on the front with ventilation) with ABS and ESP.

On the Russian market Forester 2018 model year It is offered in eight equipment levels - "Base", "Standard", "Comfort", "Comfort+", "S Limited", "Elegance", "Elegance+" and "Premium".

For a crossover automatic transmission you will have to pay from 1,749,900 rubles, and the “top modification” with a 241-horsepower engine is sold for at least 2,599,900 rubles. "Full stuffing" boasts: alloy wheels 18 inches, LED headlights, electric sunroof, leather trim, heated rear seats, dual-zone “climate”, rear-view cameras, light and rain sensors, navigator and a huge number of other “gadgets”.

  • The Forester crossover trend clearly shows the Japanese manufacturer's penchant for a five-year renewal cycle for this model. The first generation of this car was presented to customers back in 1997. 2002 was a significant year for the second generation Forester, which was also destined to last exactly five years, giving way to the third Forester in 2007. Following the tradition of "shock five-year plans", 2012 became the year of birthmodel year. Obviously, in 2017 we should expect the world premiere of the next, fifth Forester.

It should also be noted that this crossover was destined to "survive" three premieres before it entered the Russian market. The first premiere took place at the end of 2012 at the international car showroom in Los Angeles, except that the car went on sale in the Japanese islands two weeks before the auto show. For the second time subaru forester 2013 "debuted" on the platform of the Moscow motor show. Finally, the third exit of this crossover "to the people" took place in 2013 at the Geneva auto show. True, each time the presentation had some specifics, since the company presented a car that was intended specifically for this automotive market- North American, Russian and European.

The Geneva motor show has become remarkable for Russian buyers, in particular, by the fact that prices for the “Russian” version of the car were announced here. As a matter of fact, the novelty presented for different audiences of buyers outwardly does not differ in anything special. Apparently, the change of generations took place more according to tradition and was not caused by the need to introduce cardinal revolutionary changes. Not risking neglecting the sympathy of fans, the company only made some additions to the appearance of the crossover.

The representatives themselves Subaru repeatedly stated that their main task was to improve the comfort of passengers and driving performance Forester, as well as increasing the level of security. When developing the fourth generation model, the company tried to adhere to the formula of practical and functional car, which is able to confidently move on any roads and off-road. Indeed, why change something that works great now.

Exterior Subaru Forester 2013: continuity of generations

Perhaps you can even expand this phrase somewhat, adding to it: "without revolutionary changes." Indeed, outwardly new subaru Forester 2013 is not much different from its predecessor. First of all, the designers tried to change the radiator grille, which caused literally a flurry of criticism of the car of the previous generation. Although they did not manage to offer anything new, except to attach a radiator grill borrowed from the 2012 Impreza.

By the way, the platform was also borrowed from Impreza and XV, which made it possible to slightly increase dimensions new crossover. The new dimensions of the car are (length x height x width): 4595 (+35 mm) x 1695 (+20) x 1795 (+15) millimeters. increased and wheelbase, which is now 2640 (+25) millimeters. Ground clearance (clearance) increased by 5 millimeters, amounting to 220 millimeters. Perhaps the curb weight of the car (1480 kilograms) remained unchanged due to the use of a special high-strength steel grade in its production, which, however, increased the rigidity of the body and made it possible to reduce the level of vibration when driving off-road.

In appearance Subaru Forester 2013 should only be noted slightly updated head optics and a change in the shape of the bumper. The lower "lip" of the protective body kit has become somewhat smaller, although both the front and rear body kit has increased slightly. Door panels became slightly more embossed, as well as more convex steel wheel arches. The shape of the side mirrors has changed. New crossover received an updated drawing of light alloy rims 17 and 18 inches and higher roofline. The famous golden wheels are also borrowed from another Subaru model, this time from sports version STI.

These minor changes still gave the car more freshness and modernity. True, the novelty has slightly improved aerodynamics, due to a decrease in the drag coefficient from 0.37 to 0.33, which will certainly increase its efficiency. Otherwise, the Forester’s body, designed from scratch, has maintained the continuity of generations.

SUBARU Forester 4 interior: comfortable space

Compared with appearance, inside the new Subaru Forester 2013 has become much more spacious, which is noticeable even visually. Passengers got enough free space not to think about where to attach their legs, or what position to choose so as not to rest their heads on the ceiling. According to company representatives, buyers will appreciate the spaciousness and spaciousness of the new crossover. It should become especially popular with motorists who select high-quality family car with a fairly high level of comfort. Among other things, they also have an increased usable volume. luggage compartment, which is 488 liters (or 505 liters with the rear seat backs folded down).

In the cabin, the influence of the same Impreza and XV is felt, from the design of the dashboard to quality materials finishes. New multifunctional steering wheel on three spokes is equipped with a full set of buttons for quick control of the main systems of the car in accordance with the latest standards in automotive interior design. The seemingly simple layout of the front panel is very harmonious and tasteful.

Designers and constructors have provided free access to instrument information, as well as to all controls. Newly acquired features include a state-of-the-art smartphone-enabled infotainment system with navigation, a proprietary Harman Kardon surround sound amplifier, and a rear-view camera. The increase in internal space allowed designers to find plenty of free space to accommodate a variety of niches for medium and small items. In addition, an increase in the overall dimensions made it possible to expand the doorways, which greatly simplifies the process of boarding / disembarking passengers.

    Specifications SUBARU Forester 4

Relatively specifications it should be noted that again Russian motorists are deprived of the attention of the Japanese manufacturer. With all the richness of the choice of power subaru units forester 2013 in Russia will be offered only two models of gasoline engines. True, the manufacturer promises another power unit, which will arrive a little later, but there is no diesel version of the engine in Russia yet. Both engines with a working volume of 2 liters, and the first of them is able to develop maximum power in the equivalent of 150 horsepower, the second, thanks to the turbocharging system, has a power of 241 Horsepower.

The maximum speed of the first four-cylinder engine will be 192 km/h. The engine can be paired with a six-speed manual transmission, as well as with the new Lineartronic stepless variator. As the manufacturer guarantees, the Forester with a manual transmission will be able to accelerate from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour in 10.6 seconds. The model with the CVT is somewhat slower, and can run up to 100 km/h in 11.8 seconds. However, she has the best fuel consumption indicators - from 6.5 to 7 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers. Manual transmission will pull 7.7 liters per hundred.

The second engine will be able to accelerate to 221 km / h. For him, the manufacturer offers exclusively a stepless variator Lineartronic. However, this will not prevent him from running up to 100 km / h from a standstill in 7.5 seconds. Expected third on the Russian market Gas engine should take an intermediate position between the two available. A 2.5-liter atmospheric power unit with a capacity of 171 horsepower will have maximum speed at 196 km/h. It will also presumably be equipped with a CVT, which will allow it to accelerate to 100 km/h from standstill in 9.9 seconds.

In the new crossover, there are practically no significant changes in the suspension, with the exception of some adjustments, which made it possible to significantly improve the smoothness of the ride, as well as the stability of the car when entering sharp turns on high speed. Otherwise, the traditional scheme is used, which was successfully tested on the third generation Forester. As always, independent suspension based on MacPherson struts at the front, independent suspension on two wishbones at the rear with a constant ground clearance system.

Among the innovations, it should be noted the new intellectual system"X-Mode" all-wheel drive, which will actively help to overcome impassability. Depending on configuration new car will be equipped with electric or hydraulic power steering. Depending on the configuration of the Subaru Forester 2013, its price will range from 1.148 million rubles (basic version) to 1.795 million rubles (top version).

Oh, and how many jokes with love and tenderness born among Subaru fans went to our Russian people! True, all of them are mostly about “evil roars”. Well, here's an example. “Why don’t WRX owners say hello to each other at the evening meeting? But because they already said hello in the morning at the service. Or. “Change the oil every 5 thousand kilometers, and the engine every 50.” Well, and so on, we will not dwell on the reviews of grateful owners, although we will definitely talk about timely oil changes: unlike other manufacturers, Subaru not only tirelessly reminds you of changing the fluid in automatic machines, but also taking into account operating conditions in Russia, strongly recommends doing this more often, even if the "tests" are good.

    Geometry with geography

To begin with, let's clarify one important term - "symmetrical all-wheel drive." Its sellers and Subaru owners they repeat with enviable tenacity, especially in those cases when they hear the question: “Why is it so expensive.” In the case of the Subaru Forester, this is not at all an equal distribution of torque between the front and rear wheels, although up to the previous generation, manual versions were still equipped with an interaxle symmetrical bevel differential, which, as the name implies, distributed traction equally between the front and rear wheels. Recall that it was blocked by a viscous coupling, which, however, has nothing to do with the geometric theme.

For Subaru, “symmetrical all-wheel drive” is, first of all, symmetry, which has become a feature of the first (Subaru 360 kei car and its modifications do not count) car of the brand. Front-wheel drive with a longitudinal power unit in this class - go look for this in 1966. It was this layout that formed the basis of the first all-wheel drive Subaru models 1300G 4WD Van, released in 1971 in a modest edition for the energy company Tohoku. This was the first "symmetrical all-wheel drive" - with connected rear wheels, but, of course, without a differential between the axles.

    Acceleration to 100 km/h

    9.5 seconds

Subaru still uses the “symmetrical” scheme: on versions with a manual gearbox and a differential, the “shaft in the shaft” system is used to achieve symmetry, on versions with an automatic transmission and a clutch, the shaft to the front cross-axle differential is located under the input shaft. And, in fact, why does Subaru rest so much on this "symmetry"? And it’s very simple: when turning, it does not create extra moments of inertia relative to the vertical axis of the car, that is, “symmetrical” handling is better than any other, although over time the significance of this factor, of course, decreases.
