Replacement transmission oil in Datsun models, it is carried out in accordance with the regulations and in compliance with all requirements. But if you can change the oil in a manual transmission yourself, then for such an event with an automatic transmission you will have to go to the dealer.

Changing transmission oil is a necessary periodic procedure for Datsun models. These cars are equipped with manual and automatic transmissions, which require timely maintenance.

How to check the oil level in a Datsun gearbox?

As stated in the mi-Do manual, the oil level should be checked every 15,000 km. To do this, you must meet certain conditions:

  • the engine must be turned off;
  • the oil in the box must be cool;
  • the Datsun itself must be placed strictly horizontally;
  • may have to be dismantled air filter(for ease of verification).

The oil is checked by measuring its level at the oil dipstick marks.

The check itself is simple - you need to remove the dipstick from the box, wipe it thoroughly with a rag, and then insert it back into the gearbox as far as it will go. Then the dipstick is pulled out again and the oil level must be exactly between the marks on it - min and max. If the level is lower, you need to add oil.

The oil level should be between the MAX and MIN marks on the dipstick.

What kind of oil is used in the Datsun gearbox?

When replacing, you must refer to the table below. It contains data on the maximum and minimum temperatures, as well as the viscosity of the transmission oil.

Transmission oil should be purchased based on this table.

Changing the oil in a manual transmission on a Datsun

Owners of the Datsun on-Do and mi-Do models know that their cars are equipped with mechanical transmissions, also intended for Lada Granta. Therefore, there are no more secrets left.

The MT on the Datsun is completely similar to that on the Grant.

Deadlines

According to the maintenance regulations reflected in the manual, the transmission oil in a manual transmission must be changed when it reaches either the mileage mark of 75,000 km or 5 years of age. Moreover, to change it, you don’t need to go to a service center - if you have the knowledge and a minimum of tools, you can do everything yourself.

Preparation

As you know, the optimal time to change the oil is after a long period of movement, since hot oil is more liquid. But, if a trip is not included in your plans, then you just need to warm it up. Next, the Datsun needs to be driven into the inspection pit and prepared necessary tools:

— capacity (at least 4 liters);

- rags;

— key “17”;

- funnel.

The “17” key is perhaps the most important tool in the operation.

How to change gearbox oil on a Datsun?

First you need to thoroughly clean the area around drain hole in a box. After this, you need to place a container for used oil under the gearbox. It is worth remembering that the On-Do and Mi-Do manual transmissions contain about 3-3.5 liters of oil. Therefore, you need a container with a volume of at least 4 liters. If there is protection, it will most likely have to be dismantled.

First, unscrew the drain plug.

The oil is drained into the prepared container.

After draining, you need to wait a couple of minutes, then tighten drain plug. Next, the dipstick is removed from the gearbox, and a hose with a funnel attached to its upper part is inserted in its place.

Then the dipstick is removed.

Oil is poured into the box through it, and its level is checked with a control plug.

The next step is to insert the hose into the filler hole.

After pouring oil into the On-Do gearbox, its level is checked again using a dipstick, after which the latter is inserted into place.

This way the oil is poured into the Datsun box.

Changing the oil on automatic transmissions on Datsun

An oil change in a Datsun 4-band automatic transmission should be carried out exclusively at a service station at an authorized dealer.

Automatic transmission oil changes are carried out exclusively at Datsun centers.

It is worth remembering that the operating manual prohibits the use and addition of various types of additives to the oil, since in modern, quality oils this need is absent, and the use of additives leads to loss of the right to warranty service at the dealer

It's no secret that all VAZ boxes are created according to the same principle. Therefore, using the Lada Kalina model as an example, we can clearly examine the process of changing the oil in manual transmission, which is presented in this story:

Sedan Datsun on-DO received good technical characteristics in its B-class. Despite its compactness, the Datsun on-DO car looks decent on the domestic automobile market.

Dimensions

The wheelbase of the Datsun on-DO provides adequate comfort on the road and is 2476 mm with a vehicle length of 4337 mm. The width and height of the body are 1700 and 1500 mm, respectively. Ground clearance (clearance) is 174 mm.

Luggage compartment

Datsun on-DO has a spacious trunk and is superior to the domestic one Lada Granta. The loading volume of the sedan is 530 liters. Additionally, the trunk accommodates a full-size spare tire.

The Datsun on-DO sedan is equipped with a Lada Kalina engine familiar to Russian car enthusiasts. The engine has four cylinders, which are in-line. The eight-valve engine installed in the Datsun on-DO has a volume of 1.6 liters (1596 cm³). The distributed fuel injection system equipped with the engine is controlled electronically, which is a plus from a technical point of view.

The maximum power of the unit is 87 horsepower(also equipped with an 82-horsepower unit) and reaches 5100 rpm, with peak torque at 140 Nm at 3800 rpm.

The maximum speed of the unit is 165 kilometers per hour, while it reaches a hundred in 12.9 seconds. You can see the engine in the photo below.

Transmission

Before installing the transmission on the Datsun on-DO, the developers significantly modernized the domestic gearbox. Datsun on-DO is equipped only with a five-speed manual transmission, which received cable drive Atsumitec brand. The German company Shaeffler equips the car with shift forks.

Currently, an automatic transmission is not implemented, but the development company plans to equip its cars in 2016.

Fuel consumption

The car fully complies with EURO-4 standards and meets all environmental requirements and characteristics. Datsun on-DO consumes 9.7 liters in city mode, 6.1 liters on the highway and 7.4 liters in combined mode.

The preferred brand of gasoline for the sedan is AI-95.

Suspension and handling

The Datsun on-DO is equipped with front-wheel drive, which it inherited from the Lada. Specialists from Nissan have debugged and perfected the suspension.

Improving the domestic suspension from Lada allowed Japanese engineers to increase the ground clearance to 174 mm. Such ground clearance exceeds the characteristics of the Grant. Thanks to such technical subtleties, driving a Datsun on-DO car becomes much easier.

The front wheels are installed on the Datsun on-DO sedan thanks to McPherson, which has already become a standard in the automotive industry. The rear wheels are mounted on a transmission beam with a semi-independent design.

The suspension elements are perfectly balanced from a technical point of view and make the Datsun sedan practical and reliable on our roads.

Results

For minor overall dimensions body, Datsun on-DO has excellent technical characteristics . The parameters are supported by affordability, making Datsun on-DO a worthy representative in the Russian automobile market.

The feeling when a huge career BelAZ the size of an elite townhouse is driving towards you is indescribable. It will crush the Datsun on-DO sedan nestled next to another giant dump truck without noticing. Trucks from Zhodino half a century ago acquired automatic transmission, and then they became hybrids, but on domestic cars new technologies take root with difficulty. For example, in order to save it, Lada had to turn into a foreigner, that is, into a Datsun.

The Japanese automatic transmission Jatco JF414E began to be installed on Ladas in 2012. AvtoVAZ considered it too expensive and replaced it with a “robot” own development. The Datsun brand, in fact, is also Russian - with cars created on the basis of Lad and produced in Tolyatti. But, on the contrary, it is increasing automation: in addition to the mi-DO hatchback, automatic transmission is now available for the on-DO sedan.

Datsun wants to appeal to young people

At the beginning of last year, such a box appeared on the second model Datsun brand- the mi-DO hatchback, and the sedan has so far been equipped only with a manual transmission. Company representatives explained this in different ways. target audience: Sedan buyers are older and more conservative. For the same reason, on-DO was painted a solid brown, and mi-DO was painted red-orange. The marketers had one more hidden intention: the hatchback body is not the most popular in Russia, so the mi-DO, which is also more expensive, should have a tangible advantage over the sedan. This advantage was the “automatic”.

The automatic transmission is popular: it is equipped with approximately half of the mi-DO sold, but in terms of demand, the hatchback is still significantly inferior to the sedan, and sales of the two models turned out to be far from the planned volumes. In addition to Lada and Datsun, a four-speed automatic transmission is also installed on the March hatchback for the Chinese market, produced by a joint venture between Nissan and DongFeng. With such meager volumes, there is no point in keeping this transmission in production. This is one of the reasons why Datsun decided to automate on-DO. Although the company expects a small share - about 20% of sales - the automatic transmission should increase demand for the sedan among a younger audience and women. In addition, Russian Datsuns also have export potential: in addition to Kazakhstan and Belarus, where the sedan with an automatic transmission was tested, mi-DO and on-DO began to be supplied to Lebanon.

on-DO now looks less like Lada Kalina

The Japanese automatic transmission turned out to be almost the most strong point model - with it, the Datsun born from the Lada acquired the features of a foreign car. In the manual version, Kalina was clearly visible: the howling of the gears of the domestic transmission could not be overcome. Not the most advanced and modern “automatic” knew its task, squeezing everything possible and impossible out of the weak 8-valve engine. And he even resisted braking, pushing the car forward. He recalculated the gears more logically and predictably than budget “robots” with one clutch and a similar hydromechanical transmission on the Logan.

The sedan does not shake while driving

Everything is the same as in mi-DO: a massive automatic lever, a straight groove, because of which you often miss the D position, but there are also small differences. The stated acceleration of the sedan with automatic transmission is a tenth of a second faster than that of the hatchback, but the numbers are still not impressive: 14.3 s to 100 km per hour. Logan with an 8-valve engine and a “robot”, a 16-valve “automated” Granta, Solaris 1.4 liter with a 4-speed automatic transmission - they are all faster, primarily due to more powerful engines.

It feels like on-DO accelerates forcefully, especially with overdrive turned off when the transmission won't shift past third gear. The engine and gearbox on new cars work more harmoniously: now you need to press hard on the gas pedal to hold the car at a traffic light, and the steering wheel when in “drive” on-DO does not shake, like on the hatchback that we tested earlier.

on-DO burns fuel honestly

Due to the short final drive maximum speed cars with automatic transmission are limited to 140 km/h, but earlier the acoustic limiter comes into effect - noisy at high speed motor. On-board computer It was calibrated and now it should show more realistic values, but if before it overestimated the remaining fuel in a 50-liter tank, now it seems to underestimate it. However, the declared consumption is quite high - 7.7 liters on average and about 9 liters according to the on-board computer.

He's ready to hit the dirt road

As the speed increases, the steering wheel, blurred in the near-zero zone, becomes heavier, and the car becomes more collected. In general, the on-DO's handling is unpretentious: it rolls in corners and sways the stern on waves, but the energy-intensive suspension with gas-filled shock absorbers would be the envy of other crossovers. For harsh conditions The automatic transmission has fixed gears: with the help of the second you can slow down on a descent, the first will help you get out of deep snow. Despite the high ground clearance for a B-class sedan, the owner of a Datsun with an automatic transmission will have to be more careful when driving around large stones - the transmission housing is located low and is not protected in any way.

Datsun has become quieter and more delicate

The car is perceived differently not only thanks to the automatic transmission, but also to many small changes. Using silicone grease, we eliminated squeaks in the front suspension and reduced the volume of the heater and air conditioner. The relays, clicking in the depths of the front panel, quieted down. Fan balancing and smooth start The air conditioning compressor clutches made it possible to eliminate vibrations. Attention was also paid to the quality of the interior assembly: the seat covers are well stretched, the gaps between the parts of the back of the rear sofa have decreased. Now adjusting or folding the backrests does not require increased effort. The trunk has been upgraded with new side trims and long-pile upholstery. They put a new diamond-shaped jack in the spare tire, more reliable than on the Lada, and in the new case the emergency kit stopped rattling.

on-DO with automatic transmission - the cheapest in its class

For an “automatic” you will now have to pay an additional 50 thousand rubles. - such a Datsun on-DO costs at least 512 thousand rubles. They ask for that much for the Trust version without air conditioning, rear electric windows and one airbag. The most packed sedan with multimedia system, side airbags and ESP will cost 602 thousand rubles. - neither Renault Logan, neither Hyundai Solaris You can’t buy it with automatic machines for that amount.

On-DO sedan with automatic transmission for 40 thousand rubles. cheaper than a hatchback with the same equipment - now it is one of the most affordable cars with an automatic transmission on the market. Prices for the Ravon R2 with automatic transmission and the Lada Granta with a “robot” are below half a million rubles, but the first is inferior to the on-DO with a 530-liter trunk in terms of capacity, and the second in terms of smoothness.

Datsun plans to compete with Hyundai Solaris

If earlier the creators Russian models Datsun was guided by the Renault Logan, but now they are keeping in mind the more expensive and better equipped Hyundai Solaris. Prices for budget Japanese brand continue to grow and the rate is at its maximum simple model turned out to be wrong. Therefore, starting next year, on-DO and mi-DO will begin to be equipped with more powerful 16-valve AvtoVAZ engines (106 hp), which will also be combined with Japanese automatic transmissions. Datsun does not yet see alternatives to the Jatco automatic transmission and certainly does not plan to replace it with the Tolyatti “robot”.

The motor is not the only innovation. It is possible that new options will appear on Datsuns, for example, now the cars do not have a heated steering wheel, front parking sensors or a rear view camera. For complete set model range Datsun is missing a crossover, but the third model is rumored to have stalled. Initially it was planned to create it on the basis new Lada 4x4, but the Japanese ultimately decided that they still needed a crossover, not an SUV.

The first “automatic machine” in Russia

In the late 1940s, designer Vsevolod Bakhchivandzhi set about developing the first affordable minicar in the USSR with an automatic transmission. The crude, borderline-adventurous project was given the green light only because the designer promised to create an army all-terrain vehicle on the same base. First regarding affordable car with an automatic transmission became the Volga GAZ-21, but very few such cars were produced. In the 1970s, a number of Zhiguli cars going for export were equipped with three-speed automatic transmissions gears manufactured by General Motors. By the way, export Grants and Kalinas are still offered with Japanese Jatco automatic transmissions.

Datsun on-Do, me-Do. USING A JACK

1. Engage 1st gear in mechanical box gears or move the variator control selector lever to position “P” (parking), brake the car parking brake. Ask passengers to exit the vehicle. If you towed a trailer, disconnect it from the vehicle. To prevent accidental starting of the engine, remove the key from the ignition switch.

4. Grab the floor cover luggage compartment...

6. Take the jack from the luggage compartment glove box...

9. Install the jack foot in specially provided places located on the body sills near each wheel.

NOTES

The location of the jack under the body sill is indicated by notches. The edge of the threshold should be above the groove of the jack foot.

10. Insert the shank of the wrench into the rectangular hole of the wheel nut wrench.

This is what a jack looks like when it is ready for use.

12. Rotating the jack knob clockwise, spread the jack so that the edge of the threshold fits into the groove of the jack foot, installed perpendicular to the supporting surface.

13. If you are lifting the vehicle to change a wheel, loosen the wheel nuts by half a turn before lifting. Remove the spare tire from the trunk. Once the vehicle has been lifted, it will not be safe to remove it.

14. Rotate the jack knob clockwise to lift the body.

15. Before finally raising the car with a jack to the required height, check again to see if the jack is tilted in any direction.

If possible, do not work under a jacked vehicle, but if this is unavoidable, install additional supports under the body.

Additional supports should only be installed under areas specifically designed for lifting the vehicle.

Place a rubber or wooden spacer between the support and the car body. Install the tripod support so that two of its legs are on the side of the car body, and one is on the outside.

16. After use, stow the jack, tools and luggage compartment floor cover.
