Premium sedan Infiniti Q50. Reviews Infiniti Q50

It should be noted right away that global changes in the appearance and interior design of the Infiniti Q50 2017-2018 that survived the planned restyling model year motorists should not wait. But in technology they simply do not exist (because the model underwent a technical update not so long ago, in December 2015). In the process of improvement, the Japanese sedan has acquired a slightly corrected exterior design of the body and a modernized interior. AND! the first in the Infiniti line to get hold of the advanced ProPILOT semi-autonomous driving system, with a story about which we will begin our review.

The Infiniti Q50 sedan, unlike the Nissan Serena minivan and the restyled version of the compact crossover, also presented at the Geneva International Motor Show 2017, received a more sophisticated ProPILOT Assist system integrated into the 2nd generation DAS system and wired control. The advanced semi-automatic driving system is not able to fully take on the functions of autonomous driving, but in emergency cases intervene in the actions of the driver and help avoid collisions with neighboring cars in the stream.

The ProPILOT Assist complex includes electronic systems and assistants Direct Adaptive Steering, Active Lane Control, Intelligent Cruise Control, Distance Control Assist, Backup Collision Intervention and Blind Spot Warning and Intervention, Lane Departure Warning and Prevention, Forward Emergency Braking and Predictive Forward Collision Warning. So the presence of such a set of modern electronics minimizes the threat of an accident.

Linking the Direct Adaptive Steering system with electronic systems security is carried out by wire, which allows you to instantly adjust the trajectory of movement. The driver can choose from as many as 6 steering settings - Personal, Standard, Snow, Eco, Sport and Sport +, allowing you to choose the best option for different driving modes using the Drive Mode system. The Drive Mode Selector toggle switch is also responsible for changing the characteristics of the engine, gearbox and Dynamic Digital Suspension (dynamic suspension with adaptive dampers). Complements such an advanced arsenal rear drive and an optional Intelligent All-Wheel Drive system.

From new details decorating appearance sedan after restyling, I would like to note the LED headlights and taillights with LED volumetric graphics, more expressive upgraded bumpers with bright aerodynamic elements.

Of course, the Sport and Red Sport 400 versions (pictured) look the most aggressive, flaunting black rear-view mirror housings, a splitter front bumper and diffuser rear bumper painted black.

Innovations in the interior updated sedan Infiniti Ku50 minimum. New multifunctional in stock wheel with three neat spokes and a compact central hub, and the front panel is covered with new leather with stitching. The interior of the expensive versions of the Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 stands out from the usual versions of the sedan with red stitching on all interior details and seat sides decorated with diamonds.

Otherwise, everything in the cabin, as they say, is in its place and is familiar from the pre-reform models of the Japanese sports sedan. Informative instrument panel with two large tachometer and speedometer radii separated by a color screen trip computer, a two-story Infiniti InTouch Services multimedia complex with a pair of 8 and 7-inch color touch screens, a premium Bose Performance Series sound system with 16 speakers, a convenient location for all equipment and high-quality finishing materials.

Infiniti Q50 2017-2018 video test

We recently reported that the Japanese automaker Infiniti has its own models. The first vehicle to carry the new designation was the Q50 midsize sedan, which made its world debut at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.

The new Infiniti Q50 (2016-2017) is the next generation, and among its main competitors are the new one. Externally, the car received a branded radiator grille, completely new front and rear lighting equipment, other bumpers, as well as a curved window sill line in the area of \u200b\u200bthe rear windows - in the manner.

Options and prices Infiniti Q50 2017

AT7 - 7-speed automatic, AWD - four-wheel drive

Overall length Infiniti Q50 is 4783 mm, width - 1824, height - 1443, and the value of the wheelbase is 2850 mm. According to the automaker, they managed to reduce the drag coefficient of the sedan to 0.26 (on the new one it is 0.23 and is the lowest among production cars at the time of its debut).

The interior of the 2020 Infiniti Q50 looks noticeably richer than its predecessor. But if you look closely, you can see that the architecture of the front panel has retained the features of the previous generation model. Only now the design has become sleeker, the quality of the finishing materials has been improved, and the center console has a clock and a touch screen of the new multimedia system Infiniti InTouch.

The base engine for the Infiniti Q50 in the North American market is a 3.7-liter V6 with 238 hp, and it is paired with a hybrid power plant with a return of 355 hp, combining an electric motor (67 hp) with a compact lithium -ion battery and a 3.5-liter gasoline "six". With the latter, the sedan accelerates from standstill to hundreds in 5.5 seconds.

At the Geneva Motor Show 2013, the manufacturer introduced a version of the Infiniti Ku 50 equipped with a 170-horsepower diesel engine volume of 2.1 liters, borrowed, in the framework of mutually beneficial cooperation, from Mercedes-Benz.

True, Japanese engineers have slightly modified it for their model. With such a motor, the novelty is gaining 100 km / h in 9.0 seconds, and maximum speed reaches 230 km/h. The average fuel consumption in the combined cycle is only 4.4 liters per hundred kilometers.

All motors are aggregated in tandem with a 7-band automatic transmission gears, and the drive can be not both rear and full (with a Mercedes engine, the drive is only on the rear wheels, and in addition to the machine, it can be ordered with a six-speed mechanics).

At the Guangzhou Motor Show in the fall of 2013, the Infiniti Q50 debuted with another engine from Mercedes-Benz - this time the four-door was equipped with a 211-horsepower (320 Nm) 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine. It also underwent some modernization (what exactly was changed is not reported) - with it, the sedan picks up a hundred from a place in 7.3 s, and the maximum speed is 245 km / h.

Sales of the new Infiniti Q50 sedan in Russia started in April 2014 at a price of 2,511,000 rubles for an all-wheel drive hybrid modification in the Sport package (since the beginning of 2016, hybrid versions have ceased to be supplied to us), and a sedan in the top Hi-Tech + version will cost at 2,400,000 rubles. The basic version of the model with a 2.0-liter turbo engine (211 hp) and rear-wheel drive reached dealers only in September and today costs from 1,641,000 rubles.

Q50 L

Especially for the Chinese market, where, as you know, cars with rear legroom are very fond of, Infiniti has prepared an elongated version of the Q50 sedan, which received the prefix L to the name.

From standard variant The Infiniti Q50 L features a 48mm longer wheelbase and overall length, bringing these vehicle parameters up to 2,898mm and 4,852mm, respectively.

The presentation of the model will take place at the end of August 2014 at the Chengdu Motor Show, and as power plant for the extended version of the Ku 50 L, a non-alternative 2.0-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 211 hp is available, combined with a seven-band automatic. The cost of such a four-door is not specified.

The executive sedan Infiniti Q45 in 1989 became one of two models of the newly created brand in the US market. The car was a slightly modified copy of the Japanese model. They were produced at a factory in Japanese Tochigi.

The rear-wheel drive Infiniti Q45 was equipped with a V8 4.5 engine with a capacity of 280 hp. With. paired with a four-speed "automatic", and for a surcharge a fully controlled chassis with thrusters was offered rear wheels and active hydraulic suspension. The American press praised the model for its excellent dynamics and handling, but the car was not popular with buyers.

The sedan was also sold in Japan under the name Nissan Infiniti Q45. In 1991 brand Infinity decided to enter the Australian market with this model, but due to extremely low demand in 1993, sales of cars there were completely stopped.

2nd generation (FY33), 1996

The basis for the second-generation Infiniti Q45 sedan, which debuted in 1996, was the model. This time, the emphasis in suspension and steering tuning was not on sportiness, but on comfort. Yes, and the engine became less powerful: the “eight” with a volume of 4.1 liters developed 266 forces. The car still had rear-wheel drive and was equipped with a four-speed automatic transmission.

Despite the change in the "character" of the car, sales in the US market were low, Infiniti Q45 completely lost the competition to its main rival, the sedan. The second generation car was produced until 2000 in Japan, this model was no longer sold in the local market.

3rd generation (F50), 2001

The third generation of the Infiniti Q45 sedan, again copying the Japanese, retained the same design as its predecessors. Debuted in 2001, the car received more powerful motor V8 4.5 developing 340 hp with., and a five-speed "automatic".

Already at the beginning of 2018, connoisseurs Japanese quality will be able to get acquainted with the new generation of compact crossover Infiniti QX50 (photo below) - even more attractive, durable and safe.

The premiere of the car took place at the end of November 2017 at an exhibition in Los Angeles. Recently, this is a normal phenomenon: European manufacturers (BMW and Volkswagen) hold presentations of new developments in the rapidly developing South Asian region, while Asians themselves prefer, without delaying expansion, to immediately introduce their products target audience. For Infiniti, these are Europeans and residents of the USA and Canada. In addition, there is experience in the implementation of crossovers of the Ku X 50 line in South Korea, China and the Middle East, and more recently - in the countries of the former USSR. It should be clarified right away: Infiniti is not a car manufacturer, but a subsidiary Japanese Nissan, created in 1985 in the strictest secrecy.

The main goal pursued by Nissan - to squeeze local manufacturers in the North American and European markets - was achieved, although relatively slowly. Since 2001, Infiniti's total US sales have never dropped below 81,000 vehicles per year. As for the Ku X 50 model, everything is not so simple with it: during the first year after the release date, sales growth was more than 4000%, and then steadily declined. It currently stands at 5,000-10,000 first-generation crossovers a year.

It is quite possible that with the release of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 premium compact crossover (photo below), the sales situation will improve, because we are not talking about another (even if the most successful) restyling, but about a completely redesigned concept of the famous car.

The QX marking, introduced in 2013, is used by the manufacturer for crossovers and SUVs of the Infiniti brand; for Nissan coupes, convertibles and sedans, only the letter Q is used. The digital value, in contrast to the original idea, no longer indicates the volume installed engine, and on the serial number of the car in model range, although in this case it was not without oddities. In particular, for a compact crossover, the names Ku X 50 and QX30 are used, while for a mid-size one - QX70, and for a full-size one - QX60.

The 2018 Infiniti QX50 (pictured below) will be built, like the previous generation, on Nissan's versatile FX platform. Not only European and American, but also Japanese drivers will be able to enjoy the novelty, but already under the original name - Nissan Skyline.

As before, Nissan is going to win the favor of overseas buyers with the quality of the running gear of the car, the variety of exterior colors offered and the use of exclusively quality materials, including natural leather (in improved trim levels - suede) and stained maple of a noble shade.

The color scheme of the body of the new crossover includes seven tones:

  • cream (Majestic White, QAB);
  • gray (Graphite Shadow, KAD);
  • silver-platinum (Liquid Platinum, K23);
  • black (Black Obsidian, KH3);
  • burgundy (Midnight Garnet, NAB);
  • pomegranate (Malbec Black, GAC);
  • gray-blue (Hagane Blue, RBP).

Interior design options Infiniti Ku X 50 2018 (photo below), as before, three:

  • beige (Wheat);
  • black (Graphite);
  • dark brown (Chestnut).

The buyer does not have to rely on variety rims- Nissan provides only two types: 19- and 20-inch tires for 235/55 and 255/45 tires, respectively. True, the manufacturer atones for the lack of variability the highest quality products: even the basic equipment new Infiniti The 2018 QX50 (pictured below) will feature full alloy wheels.

The priority environment for the Infiniti Ku X 50 is the city: a small crossover is unlikely to cope not only with a forest path or water obstacle, but even with a not-too-well-maintained rural road. This, however, does not mean that it is impossible to drive a new car outside the city limits: the main thing is to correctly plan the outing route so that you do not subsequently apply for urgent maintenance.

The 2018 Infiniti QX50 is the perfect choice for above-average car enthusiasts willing to pay more than just high specifications and an extremely comfortable crossover interior, but also for a representative appearance, instantly distinguishing the Ku X 50 from the mass of standard, average vehicles.

The QX50 is, after all, first and foremost a luxury. Whether there is a need for it, each buyer will decide for himself, and the following will help you make the right decision short description appearance, interior and configuration options for a compact crossover.

Infiniti Ku X 50 - appearance (exterior photo)

The appearance of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) is evidence of the commitment of Japanese designers to a concept chosen a long time ago, as far as possible from European ideas about body geometry. Here you can not find strictly perpendicular lines running throughout their entire length without kinks and bends. Smooth outlines give the body of the new Infiniti Ku X 50 the dynamism and some aggressiveness that is lacking in most American and European models, which, however, arouses only admiration in the observer without any negative emotions.

The decision of developers from Japan to follow in the footsteps of Chinese and South Korean colleagues seems a little strange, replacing the “normal” radiator grille and air intake with a coarse mesh, in total divided into four parts:

  • on top in the center - a radiator grill with a chrome trim and a huge brand emblem (a road directed into the distance);
  • bottom in the center - an air intake in the form of a regular trapezoid;
  • on the sides, left and right in the L-shaped recesses of the hood - small additional air intake compartments.

The cellular open structure of the “nose” of the Infiniti QX50 2018 greatly weakens the stability of the crossover when head-on collision, and there is very little hope for a short metal protection located below. However, the manufacturer, as can be seen from the photo, provided for the possibility of installing enhanced protection for an additional fee. Such a way out of the situation can be recommended to all owners of the Infiniti Ku X 50, without exception, even to those who are not going to leave the city or on dangerous sections of the road.

Apparently, the "urban" priority of the miniature crossover is also due to Nissan's decision to practically deprive the protection of the small fog lights, which are located at the bottom of the bumper. It cannot be assumed that the upper and lower protrusions of a fancy body will provide decent protection for rectangular foglights - the driver can only rely on his own experience and prudence.

The headlights of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below), which are triangular branches from grille, are also deprived of external protection: their own stiffening ribs are responsible for the safety of navigation lights.

Depending on the configuration, front xenon or LED headlights can be installed on the Infiniti Ku X 50; all rear optics are assembled from high quality LEDs. For timely cleaning of dust and dirt, the front lights are equipped with retractable washers.

Completing the magnificent frontal view of the new crossover is a complexly stamped hood cover with two divergent windshield stiffening ribs, the line of which flows into chrome trimmed side mirrors with repeaters.

The side view of the car (photo below) pleasantly surprises with nice decorative “sills” along the lower edge of the body. The side doors of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 are adorned with deep trapezoidal stamping that merges into muscular bulges along the edges. wheel arches, visually giving the body massiveness. The wheel arches - almost square in shape, perfect for the rims and tires above - are finished in black plastic to add depth to the gaps between the tires and the body.

The line of side windows of the Infiniti Ku X 50, the apparent continuity of which is achieved by using jumpers to match the glass, is equipped with a chrome frame along the edges. All crossover glasses protect people in the cabin from harmful ultraviolet radiation; the windscreen tint is greenish to allow the driver to focus on the track, while the rear passenger windows are moderately tinted.

The sloping roof and rails closed from the outside suggest the only option for placing cargo on top of the Infiniti Ku X 50 - with the help of a "top trunk", which is a separate accessory. The new crossover, at the request of the buyer, is equipped with a wide panoramic roof or a sliding electric sunroof. The products are made of tempered glass, which protects passengers and the driver from too intense sunlight, and therefore makes driving truly safe.

Behind the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) is a narrow one-piece tailgate, equipped with a massive windshield wiper and an outstanding spoiler with LED repeater.

An interesting decision by Nissan was the longitudinal placement of narrow parking lights located in the side niches of the rear bumper. Three-dimensional taillights of predominantly red light occupy almost half of the “stern” of the new Infiniti Ku X 50, going both to the tailgate and to the sides of the body.

The rear bumper of the crossover, unlike the front one, is equipped with a massive protection that prevents serious harm to the health of rear passengers even in a direct collision. At the bottom of the car are pipes half integrated into the bumper exhaust system, framed by chrome-plated trapeziums.

The rear window of the 2018 Infiniti QX50, as well as the side windows adjacent to it, is tinted for the convenience of passengers, and is also equipped with an electric heater with a timer, which allows you to winter time prepare in advance for the trip, without wasting time on “thawing” the crossover.

The sophisticated configuration of the Infiniti Ku X 50's tapering back cabin not only gives the car a sophisticated look, but also opens up additional visibility for the side mirrors: the driver can confidently move even on a busy highway without fear of "blind spots".

Photo of the car interior (interior)

The inside view of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 (photo below) is restrained and elegant, as befits a premium crossover. In the cabin, despite the small size of the body of the car, five adults can fit without any inconvenience, given the driver. Passengers who decide to sit at the back will be pleased with the most comfortable “sofa” of an anatomical shape, which eliminates pain in the spine or leg muscles even after several hours of driving on uneven surfaces.

If necessary, the “sofa” turns into two autonomous chairs, separated by a wide armrest with cup holders. In this case, the rear seats can move along the "rails", which guarantees comfort for passengers of any height and build.

All seats, both rear and front, are equipped with manually adjustable wide headrests, heating and ventilation; the front ones, in addition, - with ultra-reliable lateral support and an eight-position electric drive. Massage options in basic configuration Infiniti Ku X 50 is not provided, however, with the general level of seat comfort, even the most demanding passengers can easily do without it.

The designers of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 decided to leave it on dashboard crossover traditional speedometer and tachometer wells, placing between them a 5-inch on-board computer screen. It displays up-to-date information about the car:

  • readings of precipitation, lighting and tire pressure sensors;
  • information about the health of the chassis;
  • route;
  • current time and date;
  • information about the temperature inside the cabin.

For greater driver convenience, the steering wheel is equipped with control buttons and, as an additional feature, a convenient gear lever. Driving comfort, among other things, is provided by a steering block adjustable in length and angle, and reliable grip with hands is guaranteed by a leather braid and an anatomical shape of the inner surface of the steering wheel.

The driver's area (photo below) is separated from the passenger area by a high central tunnel. The effect of zoning, in addition, is created by a two-color upholstery passing through the tunnel up to the lower touch screen (there are two of them in the new crossover - the upper one, the smaller one, the large lower one).

On the driver's side, additionally protected by a ledge, there is a gear lever, a drive mode selection washer (eco-friendly, sporty, standard and individual). In front of the tunnel there is a convenient niche for charging USB devices (the manufacturer provides two connectors in total) and one 12-volt outlet.

General large niche for small items and mobile devices, stretching along the entire tunnel, is closed by a panel and a common armrest. In the same niche of the 2018 Infiniti QX50 are dual cup holders.

Admiring the luxurious interior of the new Infiniti Ku X, one cannot help but pay attention to the common front armrest, the slope of which allows both the driver and the passenger to place their hands with maximum comfort.

The real decoration of the interior of the new crossover is the central panel (photo below) with two 7-inch touchscreens:

  1. Data is displayed on the upper rectangular:
    • navigation system;
    • security systems;
    • cruise control;
    • climate control.
  2. The lower one, almost square, is integrated with:
    • system Hi-Fi multimedia Bose HDD (AM/FM radio, 6-disc CD player, playback of audio and video files, adjusting the sound level to vehicle speed);
    • communication complex with devices based on Android and iOS;
    • "assistant" driver with the function of recognition of gestures and voice commands;
    • system for receiving/rejecting incoming voice calls and text messages.

In addition to touch control, a standard one, more familiar to a domestic driver, is also possible: through the keys located on both sides of the bottom screen.

Providing free access to the salon of natural sunlight, useful for the eyes, will help a roof with a panoramic view Infiniti Ku X 50 (photo below). And while stopping new crossover can be ventilated using the electric sliding sunroof.

And, of course, in the evening and at night, neither the driver nor the passengers will suffer from a lack of lighting: soft peripheral light and several point sources will allow not only to control instrument readings and follow the road, but also to read a book or work with a laptop (tablet or smartphone).

The rear “sofa”, if necessary, to increase the capacity of the luggage compartment of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 folds completely horizontally. In the future, after unloading the transported items, the owner of the crossover can raise both seats automatically - using a special button.

Unlike Russian or Chinese crossovers and SUVs, the cabin of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 is simply equipped with excellent sound insulation: passengers will not be disturbed by any extraneous sound: the rustle of gravel, the noise of pebbles or other passing cars. And if you still want to let the sounds into the cabin, the people who are there just need to press a button: the electric windows go down themselves - and quickly enough.

Car dimensions

The new Infiniti Ku X 50 has undergone changes in all three dimensions:

  • the length of the Infiniti QX50 is now 4.70 m, having decreased by 0.05 m;
  • the new width of the car is 1.90 m (according to this dimension, the crossover has grown by 0.10 m);
  • the height also increased by 0.06 m and is equal to 1.70 m;
  • wheelbase length, reduced by Nissan by 0.08 m, - 2.80 m;
  • clearance - 21.8 cm.

The most serious inconvenience that the owner of the new 2018 Infiniti QX50 will face is the close luggage compartment, with raised rear seats capable of holding only 355 liters. Having folded the entire “sofa”, the driver will additionally free up about 1000 liters for the overall load. And do not forget that items that do not fit into the interior of a mini-crossover can be securely fixed on the roof of the car.

Specifications Infiniti QX50

Oddly enough, the manufacturer decided to supply the crossover, at least at first, with only one type of engine: a two-liter gasoline (1970–1997 cm 3) VC-Turbo capable of operating in two modes (Atkinson / Otto) and delivering up to 272 Horse power and a record for crossovers 230 km / h.

Both all-wheel drive and front wheel drive cars will be equipped with an eight-position automatic transmission, allowing to accelerate to 100 km / h:

  • in the first case - in 6.3 seconds;
  • in the second - in 6.7 seconds.

Depending on the configuration option selected by the buyer and the sales market offers (North American, European, Russian or Asian), the number of "ingredients" listed above may vary. For example, the 2018 Infiniti QX50 for Russian market will most likely be equipped with the ERA-GLONASS system by default.

Start of sales in Russia and in the world

The release date for the new Infiniti Ku X 50 in the US market will fall in the spring of 2018. Russian motorists will be able to buy compact crossover a little later, approximately in the autumn of the same year.

The Japanese do not plan to open joint ventures in Russia, so the 2018 Infiniti QX50 will be delivered to domestic market from the outside, which, according to experts, will favorably affect the reliability of its chassis and other components.

Options and prices for the 2018 QX50

In principle, both configurations of the new crossover (Elite and Hi-Tech) are extremely similar and differ in price by about $ 5,500 (320,000 rubles at the current exchange rate). The cost of the basic configuration is about $42,000 (2.5 million rubles), and the advanced one is $47,200 (2.75 million rubles).

In crossovers maximum configuration will be installed:

  • adaptive cruise control (instead of passive);
