In 1972 from the assembly line of Ulyanovsk car factory the legendary "Kozlik" drove off - an SUV marked UAZ - 469. Initially, it was positioned as a vehicle for military purposes, but later it came out and civilian version. The popularity of this model was due to only one of its positive qualities, but the most serious one is its high cross-country ability.

The fact that the model turned out to be successful in its own way is evidenced by the fact that its subsequent generation, the UAZ-3151, did not have significant design modifications. The second generation, and now the last, was a model called the UAZ "Hunter", released in 2003. And although the usual digital index of the version was replaced with an English word, it is still the same “Kozlik”, albeit somewhat worked out for the current realities.

Types of bodies, overall parameters

Let's start with the body and dimensions of this car. Like the predecessor model, two body styles were available for this SUV. The main one was a 5-door station wagon with a hard metal top. Also "Hunter" is available in the body of the station wagon-phaeton, with canvas removable top, stretched over dismantled arcs.

Judging in general, there are no innovations in Hunter, except for the name and some minor elements. And since no changes were made to the constructive part, then the dimensions of the SUV remained almost the same as those of the 3151 model.

The length of the "Hunter" is 4.1 m, with a width (with unfolded mirrors) - 2.01 m, with a height - 2.025 m. The main advantage of this SUV is ground clearance, which is equal to 210 mm.

Exterior

Let's go through the appearance of the car, which has not changed much since the 469. All the same cubic chopped forms and complete minimalism. But this is one of the advantages of the car. It is still designed to move where you can’t get to other SUVs. And the extra elements on the body are useless for this.

The appearance of the car has long been familiar. All the same two horizontal barred and rounded wide stripes that play the role grille, round bulging headlights below which are fog lights. Interestingly, there are no turn signals in front at all, they are on the side near the windshield. The bumper also remained unchanged - the usual stamped beam with hooks on top. And best of all, no plastic.

The part of the body reserved for the salon is completely reminiscent of a glazed box in shape. Of the noteworthy in the side of the car, only the protruding stamping of the body, which forms the wheel arches, can be noted. Nobody hid the curtains of the doors, they remained outside the body. But here there is already a finishing plastic, which is used on the door handles and as a body for the side mirrors.

The back of the car is vertical. The 5th door is hinged, consists of two parts and a spare wheel is fixed on the bottom of them. The rear lighting equipment is very simple and consists of two vertical headlights that combine brake lights and turn signals.

In general, the exterior of the car is very simple and without any frills. But such minimalism is often only a plus, especially for lovers of all sorts of tunings.

Interior

3) And finally, the Chinese version of the 2.2-liter F-Diesel 4JB1T was installed on the Hunter, the output of which is 92 horsepower at 3600 rpm and 200 Nm at 2000 rpm.

Later than all, the diesel version of the "Hunter" appeared with a 2.2-liter engine from the same "Patriot", which produces 98 hp. With. Now models with such an engine can only be purchased from hand.

The SUV transmission consists of a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 2-speed transfer case. Wheel formula "Hunter" - 4x4, but front axle- disabled.
