Mirror and window controls are located on comfortable armrests. The pedals have sports metal pads, and on the left there is a compartment for resting the foot. Expensive model configurations are also equipped with a panoramic electric sunroof.

The luggage compartment here is also quite roomy and has a volume of 410 liters. It can also be significantly increased by folding the rear sofa.

Vehicle Specifications

The total range of engines includes 17 units. Here are all kinds of diesel and gasoline engines of different sizes and capacities. In the same Brazil, there are two car configurations:

• In the base it is equipped with an atmospheric 4-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 2 liters and a capacity of 166 Horse power. This engine also capable of driving on alcohol.
• More expensive equipment equipped with a 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with a volume of 2.0 liters and a capacity of 170 horsepower.

The first power unit is equipped with front-wheel drive models and a 6-speed mechanical box gear shifting. The second motor is placed only on all-wheel drive modifications and comes with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

In 4x4 models, the main one is front-wheel drive, but if necessary, half the power is transferred to the rear axle. In such configurations, the car has 4 off-road driving modes (automatic, snow, mud and stones).

In other countries, for example, in the USA, the car will be equipped only with gasoline engines with a volume of 1.4 and 2.4 liters, developing a capacity of 170 and 185 horsepower, respectively. And in the same Europe, two more turbocharged ones will be added to these engines diesel engines with a volume of 2.0 liters, delivering power of 140 and 170 hp.

The Jeep Compass II is built on a FCA Small Wide 4×4 scalable suspension with a transversely mounted engine and independent front suspension. The suspension has MacPherson struts with gas-filled dampers and a transverse stabilizer bar. The body and frame of the machine are made of high-strength steel, and the front cross member and hood are made of die-cast aluminum sheet. Already in the stock configuration of the car, disc brakes are installed on all wheels, there is ventilation of the front axle and steering with electric booster.

In the Brazilian market, the car comes in four trim levels:

But in the “base”, the look of the interior is not so elegant - the multimedia is simpler here, and the screen on the instrument cluster is smaller.

In the cabin of the American crossover, there is enough free space for the driver and four of his companions.

The front riders in the car are given comfortable chairs (although their lateral support is not developed in the best way) with a large set of adjustments, and the rear riders have a properly configured sofa with optimal padding.

The trunk of the Compass of the second incarnation holds 410 liters of luggage under the curtain. The "gallery" is transformed into a pair of unequal parts, forming an almost even rookery, and hidden in an underground niche spare wheel and a set of tools.

On the Russian market The second generation Jeep Compass is offered with one gasoline engine, but available in two “pumping” options - this is an in-line atmospheric “four” with a working volume of 2.4 liters with distributed fuel injection, variable valve timing and a 16-valve DOHC timing belt:

• by default, the engine produces 150 horsepower at 5500-6400 rpm and 229 Nm of torque at 3900 rpm;
• and on the Trailhawk version - 175 hp. at 6400 rpm and 237 Nm of torque potential at 3900 rpm.

Normally, the power unit works in conjunction with a 9-band “automatic” and an Active Drive all-wheel drive transmission with a GKN multi-plate clutch, which directs up to 50% of traction to the wheels if necessary rear axle. A more capable modification of the Trailhawk is equipped with the Active Drive Low system, which is distinguished by other settings and a short first gear of the automatic transmission, which acts as a “downshifter”.

The second generation Compass is built on a scalable FCA Small Wide 4 × 4 bogie with a power unit transversely mounted in the front part and an independent suspension with MacPherson struts “in a circle” (with gas-filled shock absorbers and stabilizers roll stability). High-strength steel grades in the body structure of the crossover account for 70%, and the hood and front cross member are cast from aluminum.

Regularly, the car boasts four-wheel disc brakes, equipped with ventilation on the front axle, and a rack and pinion steering system with electric power steering.

In Russia, the "second" Jeep Compass 2018 can be purchased in three equipment options - "Longitude", "Limited" and "Trailhawk".

The crossover in the basic configuration costs a minimum of 1,999,000 rubles, and its functionality combines: six airbags, 16-inch alloy wheels, air conditioning, xenon headlights, fabric trim, heated front seats, a media center with a 5-inch screen, ABS, ESP, heated steering wheel and windshield wiper rest areas, cruise control, a six-speaker audio system and some other “gadgets”.
