Reviews

The main thing is clearance! I stopped looking closely at every pebble on the road. Large diameter wheels add comfort when driving on bad roads. I don’t have to look out from behind the wheel onto the road (even with my considerable height). Made me happy when going out into nature - even on front wheel drive You can drive where the road was previously closed.

A little more about consumption, since this worries many. We can say that he pleases. It all depends on the driving style of the particular driver, the time of year and where you have to drive. The first three winter thousand (although in our area last winter was warm) the consumption was 9.4-9 liters per hundred city-highway approximately 50:50. It seemed like a lot, but spring came, the running-in ended and the consumption dropped to 8 liters.

There are several reasons why you should forget about dynamic driving. I'm somewhat dissatisfied with the automatic transmission algorithm. When on long climbs (or overtaking), you almost always have to use manual mode, since the automatic switches on early downshift and then, apart from the roar of the engine, there is little sense.

Overall I like the car. Despite the simple interior and average appearance, the Hyundai Greta is one of those that is larger inside than outside (praise be to the designers), so far it does not annoy even small jambs. And... This is a car more likely for the city, for traffic jams, for a leisurely drive. Such a workhorse for every day.

Vladimir, review about the Hyundai Greta 1.6 automatic with front-wheel drive.

I drove at night in normal conditions without rain, without oncoming traffic or splashing headlights - the light on Crete is very weak. This is the first problem. Second - the car (my opinion) is light, it basically holds the road, but due to poor lighting it flew onto a frozen roadside track, it’s good that the speed was low, it pulls off and jumps. There is a feeling of an unbalanced car, maybe it’s a matter of habit, I don’t know.

At low speeds in the snow, this lightness is even a thrill, it rows normally and skids the rear a little if you increase it, but in principle it is stabilized without intervention by the steering wheel. It works quite often. The engine was not particularly broken in, but it gave off heat when overtaking. Frankly speaking, the engine is rather weak. Maybe for now.

The car heats up quickly and efficiently. I set it to 23 according to the book, and forgot (climate). True, with frosts of minus 20-30, the windows tighten when driving long distances, turn them on to normal mode, and it goes away. We'll see how the air conditioner and climate will work in the summer. The ergonomics of the cabin are generally fine. The doors don't close the first time, maybe because of the frost.

Owner's review of the Hyundai Creta 2.0 with automatic transmission and all-wheel drive

Where to buy?

In the first week, a knocking sound appeared in the trunk; I didn’t notice it until I took everything out of the trunk, including the shelves and the spare tire. I discovered a rattling noise in the trunk lock... I went to the dealer, they tightened it up and fixed it.

Second week, the next day after visiting the dealer the tire pressure gauge came on, I checked that the pressure was normal. I drove for a couple more days and the trunk lock started clanking again and gradually stopped closing the first, second, or fifth time. I visited the dealer, they changed the lock, did something to the tire pressure sensors, the light stopped burning

Over a run of 1,300 km, the consumption gradually decreased from the run-in 18-20 to 10.2 on the highway in 100/120 mode and to 12-14 in the city. And yes, guys, this is a 95 G drive)) Mileage 4,000 km, no more problems.

From disadvantages of Hyundai Creta, I note that both the engine and the interior cool down quickly, there is no sealing - it comes through from the windows when closed, when reclining the seats, the air in the trunk is very noticeable, there are a lot of crickets, the trunk lock clicks in the cold, driving safety on the highway is low - it directly throws you out of the rut ,
there is no lumbar support - the back gets tired after 400 km of the route, the audio is very mediocre, it can be treated at least by replacing the head.

Nikita, review about Hyundai Creta 2.0 with automatic transmission on front wheel drive.

123 horsepower is quite enough for driving around the city; it’s stupid to expect any unrealistic acceleration figures from a city crossover. When driving with smooth acceleration on the streets, this engine is enough for the eyes. The 6-speed manual turned out to be cool and convenient - short stroke, clear shifts and electronic assistants doing their job.

It turns out that you seem to have a manual transmission, but the car still doesn’t give you complete control over yourself, but to call this a minus is complete nonsense. You just sit down and drive, getting used to everything in a matter of minutes. The only thing you need to get used to is electronic pedal gas, the delay of which is felt for about a second.

Well, appearance is determined differently for everyone. For example, I really like her. A strong and swift silhouette in a small body. Although, by the way, there is a lot of space inside the car, both in the front and in the back - I still don’t understand how they were able to achieve such a result.

Review from the owner of Hyundai Creta 1.6 on mechanics

Video review of the Hyundai Creta

The suspension is moderately stiff. In my memory, of the crossovers with a similar wheelbase, the softest is the Qashqai, the hardest is the Suzuki Grand Vitara. Creta is somewhere in the middle. The suspension is not very elastic (like the Tiguan), but not flabby (like previous Hyundais). Small bumps go well, speed bumps are no longer good if you drive at a speed of more than 30 km/h. Large potholes depending on speed. On a small scale - normal, average.

The Creta's steering is well controlled and does not roll - handling is at an average level passenger cars T-class type Focus, which is very good. The steering wheel itself is light and gets heavier at speed, but not linearly, i.e. Already at low speed it becomes quite heavy. It is light only in parking lots and when driving at speeds up to 10 km/h. Noise insulation is average, at low speeds it is very quiet, then mediocre.

The engine follows the gas pedal well up to 60-80 km/h. Then it starts to dull. Above 100-120 km/h it already begins to howl. The box, again, works just fine up to these speeds. All this points to the urban nature of the car - it’s good to drive on average city roads and not too fast. Ideal for Moscow and the region.

Interior design, dashboard simple but cute. Like all Hyundais, the Creta has a very good appetite. Highway 9 liters, city with traffic jams and warm-ups - 13 liters. Well, this is the price to pay for a naturally aspirated engine, brisk starts from traffic lights and a classic automatic – there’s no getting around it. The brakes are again average - not sharp, but informative, although somewhere from the middle of the brake pedal stroke.

The build quality of the car is normal, but there is a problem with closing the fifth door - you have to slam hard. Fill up with 92 and save on motor oil I really don’t recommend it (take Total Quartz) - in two-liter engines this can cause scuffing in the cylinders.

Review from the owner of Hyundai Greta 1.6 automatic transmission with front-wheel drive

Judge for yourself - by default, the “Korean” is equipped with electric windows on all doors, a height-adjustable multifunction steering wheel with a wireless communication control interface and an audio system with the ability to connect additional USB devices, as well as a minimum set of auxiliary electronic assistants. In particular, the hill descent assist function and the distribution system braking forces. Front airbags, ABS and exchange rate stabilization system are responsible for safety.

The basic version of the car is driven by a 1.6-liter gasoline engine coupled with a six-speed manual transmission. 123 “horses” is not enough for you and you want an “automatic”? Please! We are ready to please both - under the hood there can be a 150-horsepower 2-liter engine, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the list of standard equipment will be supplemented by a climate system, heated front seats and mirrors, parking sensors, fashionable light alloy wheels and side airbags. Add all-wheel drive here, and you will be happy!

If all this wealth does not greatly affect the price of the car, then Hyundai Creta has every chance to win a leading position in the market. By the way, according to the price list for the new product, it will start at approximately 800,000 rubles. In the top version, including an additional optional package with leather mug, rear view camera, Supervision cockpit and heated steering wheel, windshield And rear seats, the car will cost no more than 1,200,000 rubles. What are your closest competitors ready to offer?

RENAULT DUSTER

In five months from the beginning of the year, the French crossover sold 19,417 copies - yes, not bad, but with its utilitarian appearance it is unlikely that success will last forever.

The standard version of the car for 630,000 rubles cannot boast of anything remarkable: there is only one airbag - a reward for the driver for choosing of this car, And anti-lock braking system brakes This is where the delights of life, in fact, end. Although no: the gas tank flap of the Duster can now be opened without using a key!

You can’t really count on the price mentioned above: dealers sell cars with a frankly dead 114-horsepower engine and a five-speed manual transmission - a rarity, and if they do, get ready to shell out money - you won’t see a car without extra charges.

More with a 2-liter 143-horsepower engine, all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission will cost at least 876,000 rubles. Plus 30,000 - installation of air conditioning, 16,000 - metallic color, 10,000 - fog lights with cruise control. There's a lot of running, right? And if you want an “automatic machine,” you will have to take almost 1,000,000 “wooden” coins out of your wallet. Naturally, without taking into account options. What can I say, even if you have to pay extra for floor mats. By the way, a “security package” would not be out of place, which costs another 8,000 to 17,000 rubles.

RENAULT CAPTUR

Cunning Europeans, deciding to play on the trust of omnivorous Russians, dressed up the notorious Duster in a fashionable suit, gave it a couple of fresh options and passed it off as new model. Whether you like it or not, the result is obvious - welcome! The platform, units and gearboxes, except for the Nissan variator, are all borrowed from the donor. Of course, this didn’t make the newcomer any worse, but is it worth the overpayment of 200,000 rubles? Probably, if you appreciate the fact that the brand’s Russian marketers have already included in the initial 860,000 the installation of “music”, air conditioning and the Start-Stop system.

If you want to ride the two-pedal version, you will have to pay at least 120,000 rubles. But if you want to row with all the leading ones, then get ready to shell out 1,100,000. For this money you will get a “Capture” with an engine of 143 “horses” and an old brooding four-speed automatic transmission. Cruise control, navigation and heated windshield will cost another 60,000. Does “renault” beauty really require such serious sacrifices?

TOYOTA RAV4

The Japanese "Rafik" is the second most popular crossover on Russian market: between January and May, 14,152 people became its owners. What's the secret? Probably, only in the myth widespread among our compatriots that Toyota is almost. One can argue with this, as, by the way, with the sanity of the price tag.

A car in its simplest version (of course, not as simple as Renault Duster) will cost fans of the model nearly 1,300,000 rubles. Expensive? Yes, expensive! Even despite the presence and decent functionality. The only thing missing here is Bluetooth, cool multimedia, dual-zone climate control and a multifunctional steering wheel. However, all this can be found in older versions. The CVT will require an additional payment of 200,000 rubles, and they will be forced to pay the same amount for all-wheel drive.

And if you have a more powerful 180-horsepower gasoline engine and a six-speed automatic transmission, it’s time to run for a loan - dealers will demand at least 2,016,000 “wooden” from you. Sorry, but for this money you can look at something much more prestigious and premium! Diesel will ask for even more - as much as 2,138,000 in Russian currency. In general, the Japanese believed in themselves... Perhaps we’ll wait until we get better than Hyundai.

Hyundai Creta is new option crossover, launched on the market in 2016. The car is going to Russian plant, fully adapted for use in the climatic and road conditions of the country. But many drivers, doubting their choice, decide to comparative characteristics cars with other models, for example, compare and Kia Sportage. The latter represents stylish SUV, which is no longer in its first generation, has gained hundreds of thousands of fans during its stay in the car market. That is why the manufacturer offers new version vehicle, which is designed to give its owner even greater protection and comfort.

To understand which model to choose, you should carefully read the key characteristics of each vehicle. This will allow you to make an objective decision that corresponds exactly to your wishes and preferences.

Exterior and dimensions of cars

When thinking about whether to buy a Kia Sportage or a Hyundai Greta, pay attention to the design. You could even say that the cars are somewhat similar. Both models have an aggressive appearance, look stylish and presentable. Of course, there are some differences. For example, Hyundai body Creta is more angular, while in KIA's design the manufacturer uses soft, smooth lines and rounded corners. Due to this, the car looks a little different than its competitor. This principle applies to both headlights and radiator grille, and other elements that we can see when studying the features of the exterior. So, having compared the Hyundai Greta and Kia Sportage in this parameter, we note that the first model looks stricter. But, in any case, your choice is guided only by personal preferences.

If we talk about the dimensions, they determine the spaciousness of the interior and the ease of use of the car in a busy urban environment. Hyundai is characterized by the following body dimensions:

  • height – 1630 mm;
  • width – 1780 mm;
  • length – 4270 mm.

KIA is a larger car compared to the previous model and has the following parameters:

  • height – 1645 mm;
  • width – 1855 mm;
  • length – 4480 mm.

By size latest model wins but loses instead ground clearance, because it is 8 mm smaller than the same indicators of the competitor, and is 182 mm. Thus, the cross-country ability of the Hyundai Creta will be slightly better.

Interior and other cabin features

When thinking about whether to buy a Hyundai Creta or a Kia Sportage, pay attention to the interior characteristics. They determine the comfort of being in a car, the convenience of the driver and passengers. Starting with the first model, we note that it is equipped with the following options:

  • fabric interior trim made of high-strength material;
  • multifunctional steering wheel, allowing you to control the audio system functions without being distracted from the road;
  • an informative instrument panel with high-quality backlighting that does not blind the eyes, ensuring a clear display of all indicators;
  • 7-inch screen located in the center of the front panel, displaying audio system operating parameters and other data;

  • central armrest with a niche for personal belongings;
  • ergonomic car seats with high lateral support and the ability to adjust in all respects;
  • modern audio system with 4 speakers.

To objectively compare the features of the Hyundai Greta and Kia Sportage, consider the interior space options of the latest model:

  • dashboard with built-in LCD screen;
  • comfortable seats with lateral support and deep headrests;
  • multifunction steering wheel;

  • navigation system with screen, built-in radio and many additional functions;
  • wireless phone charging;
  • audio system with 7 speakers.

Now you can compare the descriptions of the Hyundai Greta and Kia Sportage and decide on the most suitable option.

Technical characteristics, configurations and security systems

This is the most important point that requires special attention. Hyundai Creta is offered to customers with two options of petrol engines - 1.6 and 2 liters, with a power of 123 and 149 hp, respectively. The car is equipped with a 6-speed manual and automatic transmission. Those who prefer the classics should pay attention to the manual transmission. It guarantees smooth and precise gear shifting, allowing you to achieve maximum vehicle speeds. Automation equipped modern technologies, therefore, already at the initial stages of movement the car shows good agility. Fuel consumption varies between 7-8 liters depending on the type of engine and driving mode.

Now let’s study the features that characterize the transport, and we can give an answer: is the KIA similar to the Hyundai Creta? The car is equipped with diesel and gasoline engines volume 1.6 and 2 liters. Gasoline units have a power of 150-177 hp, diesel – 185 hp. The transmission options are the same as in the previous model. But, a 7-speed gearbox is offered on a 1.6-liter gasoline engine. Fuel consumption is 6.3 liters on diesel and 7.5-8.3 liters on gasoline.

So you see that the competitor Hyundai Creta has more powerful motors, at the same time, fuel consumption indicators are practically the same.

Now it remains to consider prices and configurations. Hyundai Creta is offered to the buyer in the following options:

  • Start is the simplest modification, which only provides power steering and a standard audio system. The cost of such a car will be approximately 750 thousand Russian rubles;
  • Active – there is air conditioning, electric windows, heated mirrors and front seats, and electrically adjustable mirrors. Available in this modification automatic transmission. The price of this option is 870-930 thousand rubles;
  • Comfort is the most complete set, for which many options are available, some of them are offered as separate packages. Here you can order a leather interior, a heated steering wheel, 17-inch alloy wheels, functional climate control and many other features.

An analogue of the Hyundai Greta in the form of the Kia Sportage is offered by car dealerships in the following configuration options:

  • Classic;
  • Comfort;
  • Luxe;
  • Prestige;
  • Premium

The price of the issue varies between 1,160,000-1,900,000 rubles. Cars are offered with 16, 17 and 19-inch alloy wheels. So you see that Kia, as an analogue of the Hyundai Creta, is certainly more expensive. Now you have the opportunity to objectively assess the situation and decide which option suits you best.

When it comes to security, it's hard to say who's losing. If you compare the characteristics of the Hyundai Greta and Kia Sportage, both cars, even in the simplest configuration, have an anti-lock brake system, a stabilization system, and an assistant when moving from a place to an incline. Therefore, when making a decision, you should consider the configuration you are interested in in more detail in comparison, comparing all the important points.

Kia Soul as another competitor

If you are considering another pair of “rivals”, you think it is better to purchase - Kia Soul or Hyundai Greta, then the decision here will be no more difficult than in the previous case. The first model has an extraordinary design, unlike the already studied options. It will easily emphasize the individuality of its owner and provide the desired operating comfort.

To decide whether to buy a Kia Soul or a Hyundai Creta, you should read technical characteristics first. The car is offered with gasoline engines volume 1.6 liters. Depending on the type of engine, power ranges from 124-132 hp. For driving in the urban cycle and traveling outside the city, these indicators are quite enough, in addition, the vehicle can boast of fairly economical fuel consumption. If we talk about the gearbox, the model is equipped with 6-speed manual and automatic options.

Continuing Kia comparison Soul and Hyundai Creta, attention should be paid to the safety of the first model, because this point plays an important role when choosing a car. Already from the factory, the vehicle is equipped with the following functions and systems:

  • disc brakes;
  • anti-lock braking system;
  • directional stability system;
  • system that helps in case of emergency braking;
  • assistance when starting downhill;
  • active control system.

Important! . Modifications available in a combination of two colors. The car, depending on the configuration, is equipped with 16, 17 or 18-inch alloy wheels.

As for the configurations, there is plenty to choose from. The car is offered to the buyer in 6 options:

  • Classic;
  • Comfort;
  • Luxe;
  • Sunrise;
  • Prestige;
  • Premium

The price ranges from 870,000-1,200,000 rubles.

Now you can compare the Kia Soul and Hyundai Creta, compare them with the Sportage, and choose the most suitable model. As an option, you can consider the Kia KX3 SUV. Vehicle has a stylish design, spacious functional interior, excellent, high level security. It is in no way inferior to the previously reviewed models, has a pronounced individuality, so it will be an excellent manifestation of your style. This way you can make a more objective decision and buy a truly worthy car.

Hyundai Creta is one of the most popular cars in Russia. And among SUVs it is generally in first place. But a few years ago Hyundai was not even taken seriously as a global automobile manufacturer reliable cars. We see the same situation now with the Chinese auto industry.

SUV segment

The niche of affordable SUVs in Russia is a tasty morsel. And many are trying to grab their market share. Last year, numerous reviews of the Belarusian-assembled Geely Atlas crossover appeared, which in an interview was called a competitor to the Hyundai Creta. Now we see that there is no worthy opponent.

Possible counterpart?

And now history repeats itself with the second Chinese car assembled in Belarus - Zotye Coupa. It has already appeared in Russia, although it is not even in Belarus yet.

Chinese auto industry

Russian car enthusiasts do not take it seriously chinese cars and often talk about them negatively. And they have nothing to object to. Companies from the Middle Kingdom have been trying to enter the Russian market for a long time, and people are familiar with their models firsthand.

The first Chinese cars that hit the Russian market caused only negativity. They were cheap and of poor quality. But we must admit that the Chinese auto industry is developing rapidly. Today you can see it more often on Russian roads oh Chinese cars. And there are even satisfied owners. Naturally, the Chinese are still far from Korea and Europe, but we must admit that they are developing quickly, and the quality of cars is growing. Even prices have already approached Korean prices.

Prices and options

But let's return to the Hyundai Creta and Zotye Coupa. One way or another, these two cars fall into the same SUV price segment.

And if Creta has already won our trust and love, then Coupa is a dubious product. Especially for the same money. Now in Russia they offer a car in the most expensive Royal configuration, for which you will have to pay 1,250,000 rubles and more. The most affordable manual Exalted package is promised to be delivered later. This version will cost 990,000 rubles.

No name, incomprehensible quality and in the same price segment! But there is definitely something to attract the attention of buyers - rich equipment even in the basic configuration. The Coupa already has: leather seats, neon lighting interior, dual-zone climate control, push-button engine start, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera and much more. But for some reason, heated seats were not brought to our northern country. How good the car is - only time will tell. There is already interest in it.

According to statistics, the most popular type of car in Russia is crossovers, and budget crossover– this is the dream of almost every second driver. Therefore, the Hyundai Creta model, which first appeared on the Russian market in 2016, was eagerly awaited by many.

Let's discuss whether the Korean crossover lived up to expectations. Why Hyundai Greta is good, and also what flaws And weak points does this model have?

List of obvious advantages

Price

Hyundai Creta confidently overtook its competitors in price budget option models. This is probably best price There is no car of this quality on the market. You can buy a crossover from 789,000 rubles, while the main competitor in the class Renault Captur offers buyers his car from 879,000 rubles, Kia Sportage– from 1,179,000 rubles, and Nissan, Mitsubishi and Toyota demand even more for the basic versions of their models. Prices are presented according to official dealers for 2017.

Equipment

Paradoxical as it may seem, the equipment of the car is both a plus and a minus. The disadvantage is that the majority of even standard, at first glance, options are present only in latest version. But we'll talk about this below. In the meantime, let's discuss technical equipment top-end configuration.

In the maximum version of the model, the car owner is provided with the following options:

  • Starting the engine with a button;
  • Leather seats;
  • All-wheel drive clutch lock;
  • Electric power steering;
  • Descent assistance system;
  • Hill Start Assist system.

The latest technology allows you to climb mountains without hindrance with a slope of 50⁰. In this case, you can stop, stand for a few seconds and freely continue moving. This option, as well as the system "GLONASS Era", which allows you to call for help in the event of an accident, comes as standard with the car. The clutch locking function will fully reveal the Greta's capabilities as a crossover. With its help, you will confidently overcome a washed-out dirt road. The Greta's cross-country ability is very similar to that of Renault Captur, the main competitor in the class and price range of the Korean.

Salon

Compared to Renault Captur and Duster, the Korean crossover wins both in terms of aesthetics and interior comfort. Inside Greta you feel like you're driving European car. Despite the fact that the plastic is inexpensive, the finishing is attractive, and the raised surface of the dashboard even makes you think that it is leather.

The steering wheel is adjustable not only in height, but also in reach. Although this option is presented only in the maximum version, the Captur even has a top-end configuration no calibration provided departure. The seats can also be adjusted in height, reach and angle. This versatile setting allows the driver to feel comfortable behind the wheel of the car, and the lateral support of the seats reliably fixes the body in turns. I would also like to note the sound insulation, which is much better in Hyundai.

In terms of trunk volume, the “Korean” is ahead of the Captur: 431 liters versus 378 liters. Moreover, the Greta has a full-size wheel under the trunk, while the Captur only has a stowage wheel. But Hyundai loses in this indicator to the front-wheel drive version of the Duster, where the trunk volume is 475 liters, and for the all-wheel drive version it is 408 liters. But the clear leader in terms of spaciousness was Kia with a volume of 491 liters.

Driving sensations

Why Hyundai Greta is good, so it is a combination of dynamics and smoothness. Here the 6-speed gearbox played its role automatic transmission, which comes on crossovers with a 2-liter engine. Thanks to the perfectly tuned gear ratio, the car accelerates faster and more confidently.

It should be noted that the steering wheel is calibrated. At low speeds it is softer, and when you press the gas pedal it becomes harsher. This distribution of force allows you to feel the road better.

Although the Greta is based on the Solaris, it does not have the same suspension problems as its older brother. Multi-link chassis Hyundai Creta quietly absorbs all the bumps in the road, allowing passengers to feel comfortable, as if they were in the cabin of an expensive German car. Something similar happens behind the wheel of a Duster – this Frenchman also confidently absorbs bumps and freely cuts through dirt roads. But Kaptur engineers cannot boast of such things. Their suspension is more sensitive. I was unpleasantly surprised by this indicator new Sportage, which overcomes the terrain even tougher than its opponents, although it is far ahead in cost.

Disadvantages and weaknesses

The most striking disadvantage of this model is the configuration. Marketers of the Korean company interested the market with an incredibly low price - 749 thousand rubles (as of 2016). This is the initial cost of the budget version of Greta. But what can they offer for this price? The basic version of the crossover does not even have air conditioning, not to mention heated seats or a lift assist system. Even the original ones LED headlights, which give Hyundai modernity and style, come only in higher trim levels. According to this indicator, Renault confidently wins, which has both air conditioning and heating rear window, and the engine start button.

By the way, maximum configurations Greta's is a little higher. An all-wheel drive 2-liter crossover with the Comfort Plus package will cost 1,200 thousand rubles, and a Renault with the same characteristics will cost 1,180 thousand.

Unlike Greta, Captur manufacturers can offer four transmission options - 5 and 6-speed manual, 4-speed automatic and CVT. At Hyundai, things are simpler with the transmission - 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic. Due to the CVT, Renault turned out to be slightly more economical than its opponent. The difference of 1 liter is not large, but when calculated over thousands of kilometers it becomes more noticeable. Many buyers in the Greta line do not have enough equipment with a 2-liter engine and manual transmission. In this regard, Renault Duster and Kaptur have a huge advantage.

Another disadvantage of Greta In front of the “French” is the ground clearance - 190 mm versus 204 mm for the Captur and 210 mm for the Duster. Considering larger size Renault wheels, Hyundai clearly loses in off-road situations when it comes to overcoming steep bumps and slopes. And when installing a steel crankcase protection, the clearance decreases by another 10-12 mm, which is comparable to the ground clearance of some sedans.

A clear drawback that many Creta users have noted is the lack of a standard option like cruise control. Moreover, this function is not available even in the latest configuration of the crossover, which costs almost 1.2 million. This fact surprised many car owners.

The weak points of the car are the immobilizer and automatic transmission. Many car owners have encountered problems starting the engine. They started it every other time, and when arriving at official dealer, everything started to work. The problem is that the immobilizer and fuel pump need to be given two to three seconds to check after inserting the key, and then turn it. Some car owners fixed the problem by cleaning the contacts on the immobilizer.

Another weak link of the model is the finicky automatic, which seems to tolerate slipping more than others. At untimely replacement oil wears out the clutch and friction donut much faster. Therefore, it is important to monitor the condition of the fluid and replace it in a timely manner. Another problem with automatic transmissions is the hydraulic plates, which quickly fail when overheated or the oil is of poor quality. Moreover, for boxes of types “L”, “M” and “G” this element is not universal, and the driver will have to select the appropriate hydraulic plate for a specific transmission.

Let's sum it up

Considering all of the above, we can say with confidence that the Hyundai Greta is a good crossover that turned out to be a worthy competitor to the Renault Kaptur, and in some respects it has surpassed it. It is perfectly prepared for Russian roads and is well equipped with technical side(except for the lack of cruise control). Compared to the Duster, it is slightly less passable, but more comfortable and technically equipped. And minor shortcomings compared to the Sportage pale in comparison to the gigantic difference in price.

Greta is comfortable and modern car, which behaves perfectly both on the highway and off-road. There is no arguing about tastes, but one thing is for sure - the Korean newcomer has already occupied a niche in this segment and will continue to surprise consumers.
