Good day to all!

The first impression is power! I have long wanted a car with a snarling eight under the hood. But somehow it didn't work out. Even the Grand Cherokee came with an inline-six. After the sale of Chirka, I began to ride on my wife's Corsa. An excellent machine, but the attitude towards the men behind the wheel of this pepelats is ambiguous. Rather unequivocal — a loser, could not make money on a normal car, and therefore it is necessary for him to point to his place. In general, I was tired of butting with all sorts of dudes on the “correct” dozens and Lacetti and decided to buy a car for myself, so that both the size and the dynamics did not raise questions. Watched Trailblazer and Cadillac — naturally two big differences. Cadillac already with a restyled interior, six-speed automatic transmission, telecom and other joys like electric doors and factory xenon. Chevy bribed simplicity, but this is the case when simplicity just rolls over. Having taken a ride on both cars, I realized that Chevy does not go after the Cadillac, and the V8 is cool, against the R6 (we are considering this particular case).

Strengths:

  • Dynamics
  • Comfort
  • Anti-theft

Weaknesses:

  • Weak brakes
  • Eating a lot in the city
  • Some parts are not cheap

Review Cadillac SRX 3.6 V6 (Cadillac SERIX) 2004

So, we needed a bigger car than the old Hover. After much searching and deliberation was chosen Cadillac SRX V6 264 hp, 2004 release, was purchased with a mileage of 64,000 km.

Wide, long (5 meters), seven-seat, all-wheel drive permanent (not like Hover, to turn it on - you need to stop to turn it off - also without a differential), the quality of the finish after Hover's blankets and felt is simply stunning, leather electric seats with lateral support, with memory, leather on the seats feels like baby skin, Tiptronic box with manual control, the interior is all rubberized, soft, just lovely, the noise is at its best, the engine is not audible at all, as if it started 1.6, but as soon as you press the gas, it immediately responds nobly and beautifully, 11 airbags, separate climate, music highest quality, built-in subwoofer and many other nice baubles.

The machine causes only delight. I moved from Hover to Cadillac as if from a tractor to a bicycle, the control is so easy and convenient that you don’t even feel that you are driving such a huge crossover, pressing the gas the car just takes off, accelerating to hundreds in 7.8 seconds, when overtaking, the machine blunts a little, at first thinks, then shoots), the car does not prowl on the road, enters into turns confidently, not like Hover — is about to roll over). The car is good, it does not ride on you, as it was before it, but you are on it). I tried off-road, it rides confidently, but not like the Hover, it was framed and made for off-road, here Kadi loses, and it’s a pity to drive him through the mud. You drive like a king, everyone looks around, you can feel the high cost and quality.

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

  • It is inconvenient to get in and out of the car, you will get all your trousers dirty out of habit, very wide
  • Transport tax 39,600 rubles per year
  • Consumption average 19 liters 92nd

Review Cadillac SRX 4.6 V8 AWD (Cadillac SERIX) 2004 Part 5

Greetings to car enthusiasts in general and crossover users in particular. This, as you already understood, is not the first review of Cadillac and, I hope, not the last. This unit has been in my possession for the 8th (eighth) year and, as is usually the case, over time, any machine begins to absorb banknotes with even greater willingness. SRX is no exception. On the odometer 130,000 km, I decided to take the car to the OD (official dealer) for diagnostics of all systems. I must say, looking ahead, that I took her to my man, who had no desire to somehow influence the increase in the estimate of my expenses. Before diagnosing, I drew the attention of the masters to the following shortcomings: a creak in the front of the suspension (on the right), a rumble on the left at speed, frequent operation of the rear shock absorber pump (they are pumped in order to keep the clearance regardless of the car load), Jackie-Chan (Check Engine) is constantly on (the car is frankly stupid when you start using it at a ragged pace - my suspicion is about catalysts, the same problem has previously manifested itself).

The OD checked the car (preliminary estimate http://i077.radikal.ru/1205/dc/7f0f6c7ad27f.jpg) and issued an invoice for nearly 250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand) rubles. A very "pleasant" amount, considering that the cost of my car is secondary market no more than 450-500,000 (four hundred fifty - five hundred thousand) rubles. Such a good repairman for half the car, it should be noted! It is clear that the prices for work and spare parts are overstated, but nevertheless my expenses amounted to 150,000 (one hundred and fifty) thousand rubles 00 kopecks (spare parts + work) from an UNOFFICIAL. True, it should be noted that in this estimate for replacement 1 (one) rear shock absorber(GM allows). But it’s also clear to the “hedgehog” that if one died, then the second one would die very soon, therefore he replaced both. If you count at official prices, then calmly add another 50,000 (fifty thousand) rubles to the estimate, that is, already 300,000 (three hundred thousand), as they say, who is more :)

What had to be replaced:

Strengths:

Weaknesses:

The second generation Cadillac SRX is a premium mid-size all-wheel drive SUV. There is only a five-door version of this car. The second SRX is produced at three plants: for the North American market, these cars are assembled in the Mexican city of Ramos Arizpe, for the Chinese - in Shanghai, for the Russian - in Kaliningrad.

The prototype of this car was the Provoq concept car, which was presented in January 2008 at the annual International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The concept was interesting in that it was powered by an electric motor designed in the same way as the Chevrolet Volt hybrid engine, and lithium-ion batteries and solar panels were recharged by a hydrogen system, responsible for the smooth operation of external lighting devices and an audio system. .

The SRX II debuted in January 2009, when they were still rolling off the assembly line in Russia. The crossover, which was originally supposed to be called the BRX, looks very different from its predecessor, its design is made in an even more “chopped” style. Slightly decreased not only the length, but also wheelbase, which, however, did not affect the volume of internal space.

The platform for the second generation SRX was Theta Premium, on which the Saab 9-4X is also based. As for the "simple" Theta, it served as the basis for the construction of more than ten cars manufactured by GM. This, in particular, Chevrolet Captiva, Opel Antara and GMC Terrain.

Sales of "Russian" SRXs assembled in Kaliningrad began in July 2010.

In 2012, the SRX experienced the first restyling in its history: the design of the front and rear bumper In addition, Cadillac received new and better "music" brand Bose, as well as an infotainment multimedia system called CUE (Cadillac User Experience).

Technical features

The main difference between the second SRX and the first is that the new generation of these crossovers is no longer equipped with V8 engines. Instead, two 6-cylinder engines are offered, one with 265 hp, the other with 308 hp. In the North American market, the SRX II was also equipped with a 2.8-liter 300-horsepower turbo engine, but since less than 10% of the total number of new SRX buyers "voted for it with their wallets", the crossover with this engine lasted only a year on the assembly line.

From previous generation SRX inherited a proprietary system that automatically changes the stiffness of shock absorbers depending on the type of road surface, but the system all-wheel drive has become different: now the fourth generation is responsible for the “off-road” qualities of the Cadillac.

Of the new "chips" of the SRX, the system is interesting automatic braking, which optionally began to be installed on cars in 2013 model year: it activates itself hand brake in the event that the driver, when parking and driving at low speeds, approaches dangerously close to another vehicle or other object.

In May 2010, the first recall took place, which included approximately 550 SRX with a turbo engine: it turned out that aggressive driving in combination with regular gasoline could “kill” this unit. It was originally planned to reflash the "brains" of the car as part of scheduled maintenance, but experts from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) insisted that GM formally announce the recall.

The reason for the second recall, which took place at the end of 2011 and which covered almost 18,000 vehicles, was possible malfunction automatic transmission. Also, 50,000 SRXs were recalled due to problems with passenger airbags.

Safety

According to the results of a crash test conducted by the American Institute road safety(Insurance institute for Highway Safety, IIHS), the second-generation SRX received the highest score in all disciplines.

Competitors

The main rivals of the SRX II are the BMW X5 and Volkswagen Touareg last generation. Cadillac is practically not inferior to them in terms of quality of finish and "fullness" of options, it is just as dynamic (if not compared with the top-end "Tuareg" and "hot" versions of the "X-fifth"), its suspension and steering tuned in accordance with European standards, although it is still very far from Porsche or BMW. Where the SRX puts all possible rivals and classmates on both blades is the price: for the same money you can not buy either Touareg or X5, and the maximum you can count on is the BMW X3 and Audi Q5 in rather modest trim levels.

The SRX is also designed to compete with the Volvo XC90 and Lexus RX, but these cars are hard to call Cadillac rivals due to the difference in philosophy and prices. "Volvo" - a little outdated family car with economical, but not very powerful engines, and the Lexus is worse managed, and for the same money that they ask for a powerful, richly equipped SRX, the Japanese will be able to "trump" only a 188-horsepower engine and basic equipment.

Buyers

The target audience of the second SRX is people who prefer cars crossovers and do not need full-size SUVs. Buyers of these Cadillacs proceed from the fact that the car is almost as good as its European competitors in terms of quality, while it is not so familiar to Russian roads, like the Touareg or X5, and costs a lot less. In addition, to target audience The second-generation SRX is an American auto industry aficionado willing to swap out the bigger and simpler Chevrolet Tahoe for the stylish and fast crossover premium brands, and former owners the first SRX.

Interesting Facts

Name of infotainment multimedia system CUE is a reference to the Bond character Q. From series to series, he surprised agent 007 with his fantastic inventions.

The second-generation crossover has been the "star" of NCIS: Los Angeles for several years now.

Initially, GM planned to release a hybrid version of the Cadillac SRX II, but then it was decided to abandon this idea. Marketers felt that the costs of this project would be too high and could not pay for themselves.

Numbers and awards

The second generation SRX was much more successful than the first in terms of sales: between 2010 and 2012 (including the first three months of 2013), 188,115 of these crossovers were sold in the North American market.

In 2010 and 2011, the SRX II became Cadillac's best-selling model in the US and Canada.

In Russia, on average, 80 second SRXs are sold per month.
