Basic information about the manufacturer, series and model of the car. Information about the years of its release

Hello everybody!
Choice of Mazda 626 GE with two-litre petrol engine and mechanical box already soon 4 years ago was completely and unambiguously the choice of the mind, and not the heart. This is my first car. Two or three months before the purchase, working time was mercilessly spent on forums, articles, talking about cars. I took a test drive with the help of a friend. It turned out that I like the back seat even more than the front. At some point, the choice clearly fell on the Mazda, and then everything went easier. The car was chosen from the site kolesa.kz, giving preference to real owners, not outbids. And only in the hometown of Ust-Kamenogorsk, because here everything is familiar and reliable. They took the matter seriously. An auto mechanic went with me to every inspection, and if he said that everything was in order, we went to the service station and looked at everything more intently. Just inspected about seven cars. Well, in terms of the combination of qualities, my green Mazda won. Although there was a better option. Dark blue, recently arrived from Germany, ideally the car had a more than inadequate hostess. Firstly, she appointed a meeting place at the bazaar in the most passing place, blocked the passage. Secondly, when asked to go to the service station, she screamed: “Who are you! I'm not going anywhere!" and left. But the car was great. My car had flaws in the body, very soft suspension, crispy grenade, mirrors did not turn (had not been fixed until now). In the asset, the engine and gearbox work flawlessly, and somehow quickly liked the green color of the car.
The first six months were filled with leisurely driving around the city and outside the city, the gradual replacement of everything that needs to be replaced. It turned out that the forums did not lie, spare parts are really available and inexpensive. So cheap that I tried to buy original spare parts. It turned out that the engine on the car is really almost ideal. Consumption at quiet ride was 6-7 liters in the city. Well, it is important to say here that my calm and unhurried ride played a role here. At the moment, the consumption in the city I have 7-10 liters. And this engine pulled always and everywhere, and always a supply of power under the pedal. But the suspension, springs and shock absorbers caused an ambivalent attitude. They were very soft and tired. But in the city it didn’t get much, on ideal asphalt the car went just fine. But outside the city, especially at speeds of about a hundred or more, I had to look out for bumps and waves. Getting on a bump almost always happened a breakdown and buildup. In the end, I decided that safety is more important and changed the struts and springs at once. All top K-Flex and Kayaba. I can't be happy.
When there was a sharp devaluation of the ruble, and the tenge remained at the old level, I, like most Kazakhstanis, thought about buying a car in Russia. Possibly new. And I came to the conclusion that there is nothing to buy, with a budget of up to $ 10,000. I can scrape together a new Hyndai Solaris, but what do I get for that money? Quiet interior and three years of quiet life. Cotton engine and front glass pillars, because of which nothing is visible on the sides. But from 3 to 5 years old, this car will start to crumble, and then nothing will save you. What is the plus of Japanese and German women of the 90s is reliability and maintainability. As long as there are spare parts for my Mazda, it will drive.

The production of Mazda 626 cars was launched in 1979. First of all, cars of this brand were sent to dealers in the United States, in fact, the index 626 itself was assigned to separate right-handed left-handed cars.

Initially the company manufacturer Toyo Kogyo put a 75 horsepower engine into their car. Naturally, the machine was set in motion by distributing the torque to rear axle. In other words, rear wheel drive.

ATTENTION! Found a completely simple way to reduce fuel consumption! Don't believe? An auto mechanic with 15 years of experience also did not believe until he tried it. And now he saves 35,000 rubles a year on gasoline!

At the beginning of its evolution, the Mazda 626 was marketed as budget sedan with a very meager set of features in terms of engine power and passenger comfort. However, in the process of constant growth and implementation innovative technologies manufacturers were able to squeeze a great car out of this baby with a decent set of options.

Over the almost twenty-year history of the creation of 626, the outer shell and filling have changed several times. Restyled models were constantly produced, traction and power units were improved.

The always recognizable style of Mazda remained unchanged. Any modification was supplied with an internal combustion engine with a decent power reserve. This allows the simplest configuration of the Mazda 626 to balance on the verge of a passenger car and a sports car.

The power unit in the engine compartment has been repeatedly changed. The first internal combustion engine ran on gasoline and only in 1982 was introduced into the engine compartment diesel engine capacity 64 horsepower. The car received the Mazda 626 GC 2 sedan index.

The engine for the Mazda 626 of the third generation with a station wagon body was equipped with a more resourceful and powerful potential. In this line there were three modifications with diesel engine, which were produced from 1988 to 1997. In the third generation of machines began to install four-wheel drive, which certainly brought the 626 to a new level.

In the fourth generation, you will no longer see station wagons or coupes. Only sedans and hatchbacks. Each new round of evolution, new engineering solutions appear power unit. In the penultimate version, there will no longer be weak engines of 50-60 horsepower.

Every generation Japanese cars there are pros and cons, especially for the power unit. It's no secret that a car older than eight years old begins to eat up oil. In the Mazda 626, this happens earlier. The 626 line is no longer in production and is considered obsolete, but it cannot be written off. With proper care and timely current repair and replacement of consumables cars will last more than a dozen years.

You can hardly meet the first and second generation on the streets of cities, after all, time does not spare anyone. But you can pay attention to cars manufactured from 1991 to 2002. So, the most common engines are two-liter, 115 - 116 strong gasoline-powered units.

Not worth buying diesel car of this age. Constant change and modification of nodes engine compartment over time, it did its job and now it is quite difficult to find glow plugs for a diesel engine and other elements. gasoline engine You can still find it at the dismantling or in the parts store. Of course, this applies to cars manufactured before 1998 - 2000.

Summing up, we can say that the Mazda 626 produced in the last century still has the potential to surprise its owner. It is better to check the engine of the six more carefully, this does not mean that everything is bad in it. Diesel certainly loses to gasoline in terms of power and reliability.

Having chosen the Mazda 626 1.6, while driving, you will definitely want something more powerful. Therefore, it is better to choose 2.0 and 115 l / s. She has enough agility for another five or seven years for sure.

Advantages of Mazda 626 engines

It is quite difficult to compare the 626 engine of any modification with any other engine. In the early years of production, this car was put on a par with BMW, in the USA it was believed that Mazda is a budget option products of the German concern.

Advantages of the two-liter line injection internal combustion engines petrol fuel:

  • Acute gas. The instant transmission of information from the gas pedal to the damper allows you to send a signal to open it very quickly.
  • Good power of the power unit and its traction properties.
  • Quiet operation on idling. When the car is parked or in neutral, the engine is almost inaudible. But as soon as you turn on the gear and press the gas pedal, a beast breaks out from under the hood. This is what distinguishes Japanese cars, the ability to make quick decisions in any situation.

These machines have one significant disadvantage. All engines over 10 years old require engine oil additions from time to time.

Mazda 626 is the export model name. At home, in Japan, this car is called the Mazda Capella. There are still half a dozen different "offspring" built on its basis. The most famous of them is the Mazda MX-6 coupe.

The 626th in the back of GE has been produced since the fall of 1991. After restyling in 1994, new radiator linings and emblems appeared. An immobilizer has been added to the cabin. In 1997, a successor, the Mazda 626 GF, entered the market.

External review

Hatchback and sedan. There were no other options. Both versions Japanese assembly. And a good, I must admit, assembly. The gaps are minimal, the factory anti-corrosion treatment is done at the highest level. As usual, there were some shortcomings: the very thickness of the body sheet was insufficient. If you walk through the car market, it is easy to see that many cars have dents on the front fenders. And they were made ... by the hands of buyers who checked the health of the shock absorbers. That's it!

There are also minor annoyances, such as short-lived hatchback tailgate shock absorbers. But the main weakness Mazda 626 - flimsy body. One light frontal impact may be enough to replace the half front. Accordingly, the second weak point is the high cost of the new "bodywork". And the "used" one often looks no better than the old one.

Internal review

Again, we start by saying that the build quality is close to ideal. There are no questions about the electrics either - at all. A broken power window on a 10 year old Mazda 626 is a real rarity.

In the global automotive industry, it rarely happens that new model turns out to be tighter than the previous one. Alas, this is what happened in our case. A tall man "by himself" in the Mazda 626 GE simply will not sit down. Unlike a car previous generation, Mazda 626 GD, which was produced until 1991.

The trunk of a hatchback is 405/1100 liters, and in a less common sedan - 450/965 liters. Agree, very good.

under the hood

Not all Mazda engines are equally useful. I mean, equally designed for carefree driving. The only diesel in the range is not worth buying. It goes no more economically and no faster than its European counterparts, but problems are provided with repairs. The motor is prone to overheating and breakdown of the cylinder head gasket. But these are still flowers. Berries are a tricky design. It does not have a turbine in the traditional sense, but there is a Comprex resonant wave exchanger in the intake manifold, which is driven by a conventional V-ribbed belt. And Comprex is often naughty: either the intercooler is clogged with soot, or the rotor breaks.

But gasoline engines are good. Tough and economical. The most common and best in power/economy is the 2.0 FS. By 120-130 thousand run on "gasoline" hydraulic lifters begin to ring. It is "treated" by replacement (put only the original, others will not live long) or by pouring expensive high-viscosity oil. The timing belt roller rests on the hydraulic tensioner platform. Replacing the entire kit is not cheap, but it needs to be done every 100 thousand.

Six-cylinder engines are hard to see in Belarus. They have a very large resource, and the few owners of such machines in Western Europe are in no hurry to sell them. But even if you're lucky, and you find the same Mazda 626 with a 6-cylinder engine, then you will choose from one option - 2.5 liters. The rest of the "six", for example, 1.8 V6 140 hp or 2.0 V6 160 HP were not delivered to Europe at all.

The main drawback of V6 engines is their exceptional demands on oil quality. Replacing all hydraulic lifters on a 24-valve engine is very expensive.

Japanese motors do not tolerate barbaric exploitation at all. Aluminum heads on all units, and on the 2.5-liter cylinder block itself is made of aluminum. Overheating is a dangerous thing.

In addition, "sixes" are, by definition, more expensive to maintain than four-cylinder engines.

Manual transmissions are almost impossible to "leave" (do not forget to change the oil every 80 thousand km). "Automatic" come across rarely, but almost as reliable. The oil in the automatic transmission is changed every 60 thousand.

Are roads roads?

The pendant is good. If only because it is simple: classic McPherson struts front and rear. But tough. Short strokes do not contribute to the durability of stabilizers and ball joints. Silent blocks live long enough and can be changed separately from levers, which cannot be said about ball joints: in the original they are pressed into levers. Non-original supports are also sold separately, but installing them in old levers can turn into a problem. Good shock absorbers are expensive, but in our conditions they need to be changed every 70-80 thousand.

Needless to say, with heavy V6 engines, the suspension serves much less.

All Mazda 626 ground clearance too small. And the risk of "attaching" on the curb is great. Take care of the bumpers, citizens!

Verdict "ABw"

Other "Japanese" of the middle class are more expensive. At the same time, scrupulous assembly, which has become the hallmark of all Japanese cars, has found its application in the Mazda 626. Corrosion resistance is at a height, the equipment in most cars on the market is also not poor. The combination of these three qualities has brought more than one model to bestsellers.

If you put up with some of the flaws of this machine, then it is certainly worth the money. And the main disadvantages are as follows: a fragile body, tighter than the previous 626th interior and the high cost of servicing engines. That is, if you need space and affordable prices for parts, it may be worth buying an old car of the previous generation. Better yet, the more recent 626 GF, which has been produced since 1997.

OPINION OF THE SPECIALIST:

Dmitry, technician and automotive journalist:

Mazda 626 GE initially cost more than the previous generation. But, despite the large dimensions, the interior has become even cramped. rear seats frankly uncomfortable. The second serious drawback is fragile body parts. You can’t even lean on this car with your elbow without the risk of bending the roof. However, the thickness of the metal did not affect the corrosion protection. The body practically does not rust: the factory processing is very high quality.

Engines in terms of reliability have not become some kind of revelation. Petrol trouble-free, but expensive to maintain. And the diesel of the "abstruse" design turned out to be unsuccessful. Poorly digests our diesel fuel, it is difficult to repair. The motor itself isn't that bad, but finding a diesel Mazda in good condition almost impossible.

Pricing

A 1991 Mazda 626 GE costs $3,000. This is the starting price. The car of the last, 1997, already costs 5500 USD. By buying a car a year older, you can save 300 USD at the most. Diesel costs no more than the petrol version, and sometimes even cheaper.

The nearest competitors - Nissan Primera, Renault Laguna and VW Passat B4, which cost almost the same. For 200-500 USD cheaper than Citroen Xantia, Ford Mondeo, Hyundai Sonata and Kia Clarus. Opel Vectra B costs about 5.5 thousand. Another 300-400 USD. more expensive - Mitsubishi Galant, Peugeot 406 and Volvo 850. The highest prices in the class are for the BMW 3 series and Audi A4, which cost about 6500-7500 USD.
